Don't think this qualifies as a roll cloud (because it's flat) but it's cool in any case. It's probably 100km long. Awaiting the 60-80kmh winds (I have my doubts they'll get that high)

over a grass beach next to a lake, a very long, narrow cloud surrounded by some wispy clouds and a bright blue sky.

We're back at Sam's happy place. (And ours) The trailer at the lake. Very cool day today but about high teens this week (and around 0-3 overnight)

This clever corvid has figured out that we put out the bird food when we get back from Sam's walk. It followed us from our gate and talked to us for the entire walk this morning.

To get my blacks like in this piece (it is still available), I use layers of indigo, Prussian blue & Egyptian Violet. Not only does it avoid mud, the layers give a real feeling of depth to something that could easily feel very flat.

Pain of a nebula. Swirling orange & reds in a finger shape pointing to the upper left, a spiral galaxy if the background & a large area of not really black with hundreds of stars

I forgot to post this when I started my new piece. Thought some might find it interesting how I set up for a new painting.

Actual day 10. About 2 hours on the left middle. Plus I replaced both the headlights in my car.

Sometimes 2004 me was really on point. -cough- Sony (And I had a website before Sony did 😎)

Snip from the blog post

Napster 2.0? Give me a break. Personally, I think the

music industry listened too much to the software community whispering in their ear. Don't -sell- music, -license- it. Restrict its use. Make people keep paying. KaChing! What the industry didn't and mostly still doesn't understand is that music is Art. It is al business, yes. Artists and people involved in producing and distributing music need to eat more than 3 times a week. (Notice I mention Artists first?) But the reason mainstream music has become so insipid and un-listenable is that the people involved in making it think of the business before they think of the art. It's a recipe for crap. Imagine some freakish world where The White Album stopped playing after a period of time and required you to upgrade to The White Album v2.0. I imagine the industry is wishing

they'd figured a way to do it back then. They are sure

Stock from leftover roast chicken bones 12 hours in the pressure cooker. This time I browned the bones & skin in a 200c oven (a tip from Fallow) & added 3 beef marrow bones (my idea which I've done before) Amazing.

So LGBTQ friends. Just got this DM & a follow from this new account. It's seems a bit sketchy (partly because I'm an old cis guy) Might be legit but I probably wouldn't be trusting cold DMs asking for info in this environment. If I'm wrong, let me know

Guess I need to update this post from a couple of weeks ago. Is that $70 billion in subsidies? (30 ongoing + 40 for pipeline) So the entire value of o&g to the Canadian economy is given straight back to big oil? Absolutely corrupt behaviour & a climate crime.

Fun fact. Canada's arts & culture gdp is basically the same as oil & gas at about $70 billion.

Direct funding for the arts & culture is about $700 million annually

albertaviews.ca/arts-publicl...

It's up to $30 billion for oil & gas depending on how you count

Crispy fried marinated fava bean tofu. Might be a game changer because I don't tolerate soy all that well (don't like the taste either) It's really good.
