Westside Cowboy… I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a band. It's like they've combined all of my favourite things: The build-energy of The Velvet Underground, a touch of Jamie T, a dash of The Strokes, the messiness of Frightened Rabbit, and the harmonies of The Magic Numbers 😍

Since Friday I've had Phoebe Bridger's album on repeat, uncovering all its layers. How devastatingly pretty with its wide soundscape—and what a perfect trilogy of albums.

There are only 2 note-perfect comedy series—The Office (UK) and Fleabag. Every single scene has me wriggling inside with pure joy 🥲

Well apparently there is a remastered 4K version of the BBC Pride and Prejudice miniseries that you can't watch anywhere in the UK ☹️ Oh, you take delight in vexing me! It was available on BritBox, but since it was absorbed by ITVX it's disappeared. What a travesty.

I've tried at least 3x to move from Figma -> Sketch, but just can't make it work for me 😔 Sketch has some awesome newer stuff, like it's command palette (YESSS), and I love its UI. But there too many weird friction points, like the preview window behaviour, and Figma is so zippy in comparison

I'm very late but only just catching up with The Last of Us Season 2, after recently replaying the game. Wow, Eugene's death (which wasn't in the game) was such a brilliant mechanism to show Ellie who Joel really is. Very clever and lucid writing—and a mesmerising performance from Joe Pantoliano

A great article by @addyosmani.bsky.social addyosmani.com/blog/cogniti... Offload; don't surrender. "Cognitive offloading is delegating to the AI and still owning the answer. Cognitive surrender is when the AI’s output quietly becomes your output and there is nothing you feel is left to check."

Well the new Studio Display is going _right back_. The colour temperature felt weirdly orange next to my MacBook Air. Maybe it’s fine in isolation, but my 8 year old LG Ultrafine fits much better with my MacBook display. So odd. Looked around at some alternatives and the BenQ MA270S looks perfect.

I’m really excited to be working on the next version of Statamic Forms this week. I’ve moved from the “blank canvas I hate everything” phase to the “starting to get a buzz” design stride. Design is either torture or joy. Nothing in between!

I tried to love Penpot, I really did—but there are just a few too many keyboard-related friction points for me. It doesn't seem like you can quickly rename layers with a nice shortcut (F2 is weird), and even pressing `?` to bring up shortcuts doesn't actually focus the search box 😮‍💨

Protest and purchase power absolutely work. The plummeting of Tesla sales in Europe, Elon exiting the White House, the rise of vegan products and menus, the popularity of actually-good zero alcoholic drinks. Carefully boycotting or choosing goods/services shapes the world we live in.

The culmination of what I've been working on for about a year is now in BETA! Please check it out, we're very proud of it. And in case you don't know what I'm talking about, Statamic is a beautiful CMS that runs on the Laravel framework. You can use it for free statamic.com/blog/statami...
