Monthly Writing Prompt Challenge #9 – Awaken
Well, September has almost ended, so now we need to wake up Empress Maake. No, I didn't delay this post so long just to make a Green Day reference. Dragonslumber just kept getting bigger. 'Slumber' was the prompt for the August story, and when my husband and prompt-giver saw I had come up with a story too big to complete in one month, he gave me 'Awaken' as my September prompt so I could keep working with this story.

Dragonslumber Part 2 Update
So, my Monthly Writing Prompt Challenge Story for September is now 12 days late. The reason for that is because it has ended up being over 20,000 words on it's own, and since its the conclusion of last month's story, this is actually a full on novel I am working with here. It's taking a while to finish off. Fortunately it is basically done, but it really needs some editing.

Update on Part 2 of Dragonslumber. It's turned into a novel. This whole project was to help me write flash fiction and tonight I crossed the 40,000 word mark. It'll be up in the next few days. Probably not edited as much as it needs, but it'll be good. Then I can get back to short stories.

Monthly Writing Prompt Challenge #8 – Slumber
Okay, things are different this month. The prompt was 'Slumber', but as I got into this story I realised that 'Dragonslumber' was a much better title, so for the first time in this challenge, I changed the title. Except the Slumber title did come back in a way. It came back because by the end of the month I realised this was going to be a two-part story, and my husband/prompt giver took pity on me and made the next word 'Awaken' so now, this month's story is '

One thing I love about driving in Australia is seeing so much art on silos and water tanks. Saw this one close to home at Wangi Wangi, in the Hunter Region #australia #art #siloart #watertankart #owl #nswhunterregion #nsw
A giant water tank behind a metal fence. A mural of an owl in a tree with a hollow has been painted into the water tank. Behind the owl a forest of trees with their leaves shed and a full moon have also been painted. At the edge of the mural the logo for 'Hunter Water' has been painted, as well as a smaller 'love Water' logo. Trees and a telecommunication tower can be seen in the background behind the water tank.

Six Stories Down, Six to Go
This year, I set myself the goal of writing twelve short stories in twelve months. Similar to what the band Toehider occasionally do with their XII in XII, making twelve EPs in a year (check out their music here). I did this because I wanted more short stories to live on this site, and I've noticed in the past that I can get very productive if I get a prompt and a deadline.

The newest entry in my monthly short story writing challenge is now live. Click here to learn more about 'Collective', my newest short story... oops, I mean, novelette. Halfway through this project, and cannot believe I've written 6 stories in 6 months.

Monthly Writing Prompt Challenge #6 – Collective
We've made it to the midpoint of my 12 in 12 Monthly Writing Prompt Challenge, with Story #6, Collective. I have a lot of thoughts on how the project is going so far and what comes next, but that can be an entire post on its own. I will point out though that a common theme has emerged; finding a reason to keep going when everything seems hopeless.

Filled the 'Starts With J' tile on my #BookBingo card with 'Japanese Gothic' by Kylie Lee Baker. An intense and unsettling time travel story dressed as a ghost story that had me hooked. Super gory, great characters. Brilliant.

I am not a very good arcane librarian
A screenshot from the game 'Librarian Tidy Up the Arcane Library'. We see the back of the library, looking down from the second floor. The door is open and all books are on shelves, with the HUD showing 3072/3072 books placed. However 0/400 rows are complete, and the books on the shelves are not uniform in appearance. On the 2nd floor back shelves, white books have been arranged to spell out the word 'POOP'

I completed a 'You're Fired' run of 'Librarian Tidy up the Arcane Library', and personally, I think the shelves look better this way. Much more lively. #games #librariantidyupthearcanelibrary #arcanelibrary

This week I completed the OoT Final Battle Lego and damn it looks so good. I have it displayed in a case in line of sight from my chair, so I can keep my eye on the goal while playing OoT randos. #lego #legendofzelda #gaming #legobuilding
