Delighted to share our new preprint on xVDM (cross-linked volumetric DNA microscopy), turning the protein scaffolds inside intact tissue into dense, DNA-encoded proximity networks for transcriptome and protein mapping. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Volumetric DNA microscopy for mapping spatial transcriptomes in three dimensions
Nature Protocols, Published online: 24 February 2026; doi:10.1038/s41596-025-01329-3This protocol for encoding spatial information via DNA sequences enables template-free reconstruction of three-dimensional gene expression patterns in intact specimens, thereby overcoming the limitations of two-dimensional spatial imaging.

1. Finer detail – not quite at organism-wide cellular resolution yet, but we’re getting there. 2. Benchmarking gene-enrichments across the organism using spatial array-based datasets. 3. Further development of GSE for embedding 10^7 points/UMIs with research-grade compute.
