It is time to ban social fraternities. Professional, service, academic & culturally based frats can stay, but social fraternities play to the worst instincts of young people, especially males (cheating, overdrinking, drugs, hazing, rape). And they have no real adult supervision.

This is our president telling Iran it's OK if they bomb our cities. Unbelievable. "Trump: "With the war, it's just artificial. It's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay ... let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay."

I'd like corporate and AI development leaders to address one question. If a vast number of people are forced out of work with no prospects for finding other jobs, who is going to be able to buy your products? You will be killing your own businesses.

There is no way the Democratic party throws someone like Dianna DeGette out of the US House and then nominates a goon like Rahm Emanuel for president. Ain't gonna happen. Rahm's a smart guy with some good ideas, but he's also a cold self-serving bastard with no ethics.

AI companies are trying to convince us this is a complex legal situation. It isn't. AI is not yet fully autonomous. It is a product owned and operated by AI companies. Legal responsibility rests with the human deployers, organizations, and developers who create, authorize, or set them in motion.

This is so hypocritical. Megyn Kelly didn't go public or report to police that Roger Ailes had sexually harassed her before Gretchen Carlson's 2016 lawsuit. She did report his behavior to internal Fox News investigators in 2005-2006, but understandably feared going public.

Even Bill Maher is certain the midterms are going to be a "classic, historical ass-whooping" for the GOP. And he rightly notes that it doesn't mean 2028 is in the bag for Democrats. It all depends on whether Dems can stay focused on basic economic issues and rebuild a responsible government.

Interesting Buttigieg profile. www.politico.com/news/2026/10...
Buttigieg was welcomed in places where candidates shunned some of his potential rivals. He campaigned with Rob Sand and Josh Turek in Iowa as they run for governor and senator, respectively. He backed Brandon Dukes in his special election effort to flip a Pennsylvania state House seat that Trump won by 18 points. He was alone among his peers in endorsing Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin in his victory over longtime Rep. John Larson in Connecticut.

“If I can help give voice to what people are after in diverse geographies, including very conservative areas,” he said, “turns out that’s my best use of time.”

Trump is Goldwater without a conscience. If you still don't understand why Republicans have had such frenzied support for Trump, watch Fareed Zakaria's "The War on Government." It's largely due to decades of broken promises by GOP presidents and a deliberately weakened Congress.

Higher education of any kind (universities or trade schools) is a key cornerstone of democracy. Because it's often the first time people from different backgrounds with differing beliefs meet in the same room to learn how to respectfully disagree and dispel myths they have heard about each other.
