The Season of OhMyGodTooManyGames continues in full-swing. As someone interested in GTA VI as a cultural touchstone but who has not a lot of interest in playing it (for now), I'm looking forward to mainlining all the incredible games releasing this fall for the next 12-24 months.

I had the amazing opportunity to work with the Destiny 2 team about ten years ago when I was working at High Moon Studios as support on Forsaken. Even though we were "external" to Bungie, every single developer treated us as an extension to the team.

But mastery doesn't equal invincibility. Every run is a risk. Even top-tier gear falls to players of modest means if they're clever and resourceful enough. It can feel really bad to lose a run and all your hard-won gear, but every time you drop in it's a different game and a new opportunity.

I like to equate it to playing something like Sekiro; It's a game that demands a lot from you. But just like Sekiro all the pieces you need are there from the start. It just isn't overt in the way it presents them. As you play each little "ah ha" moment builds upon the last until you gain mastery

Just for comparison (and not a slam against recent releases at all), this is my steam sale haul for less than the price of a "standard" $70 game. Indies and smaller projects have bolstered this industry in the past when AAA publishers stumble. Get in there, support independent and smaller teams.
