Yeah, this is something I struggle with too when I hear people whining about people who "are faking disability." Or "not trying hard enough." I always get the "Well I don't mean you!" when I give them a look like "Are you fuckin serious?" Words matter, people. Perhaps lead with compassion, yeah?

After the humidity in the surrounding drywall...etc. is corrected it'll be time to repair the ripped out portions of the ceiling and wall. All because a prior tenant above didn't properly fasten a toilet down (wax seal broke. so it wasn't sewage water) 5/

They're all very contagious. Saturday the moisture remediation guy was very confident in removing the dehumidifier by today. So I checked out of the hotel. That didn't happen. It's all still here. But this bug has me so tired so I'm sleeping through the noise. (napped off and on all day) 4/

Also, Sunday, I was absurdly tired all day. It took me about 6 hours to assemble the desk. I was out cold basically by 6pm This morning at 1:30am, my gut woke me, and I had a sore throat and postnasal drip -- most likely an adenovirus or similar viral infection. 3/

Saturday the contractor did tear out. My friend and I did A/C install. I mildly lacerated both hands when installing the external grill. (Narrowly avoided infection by dousing the deepest cuts with betadine) Insurance put me up in a hotel. Sunday I assembled the desk I bought several months ago 2/

So, Friday morning I disposed of the old desk I needed to replace w/ the new one I'd had for a while. Friday afternoon the moisture remediation contractor arrived. He said my A/C needed to be replaced ASAP to control temperature for his equipment. A friend helped me locate and install one. 1/6

If you'd read down some you'd have seen I addressed that as a reason why it's going to be worse on concrete. Calcium carbonate (in concrete) doesn't form a patina.

I've toyed acrylic paint. I can see it doing two things. 1. Initial impact create an irregular impact pattern for the corrosives. Irregular shapes are often less structurally sound. 2. subsequent impacts cover the original ones making it harder for remediation materials to reach the ongoing reaction

Minor wording error. I've done it with copper and brass. what I know of chemistry says with concrete it's likely to be a slower reaction. But since 10 minutes is all it takes to corrode the surface of brass and copper concrete will have a worse time over hours as it won't form a protective patina.

Maybe? I've only done it with brass and copper. And what I can tell you is you need to clean it off, ASAP, once you get the effect you're after. If I were you, I'd get a very small planter, I could lose in the process of experimentation, and try it out to see. Also google it. Lots of DIYers online.

Oh, and I'm not basing the DIYer part on rumor. I've done both. I did exactly that combo for the aging of the brass strips on the journal I made (dig through my posts). 10 minutes was more than sufficient. Hours dissolves almost all. And calcium carbonate, a part of concrete, reacts similarly.

Scott, did you know that vinegar + hydrogen peroxide + salt is used by DIY circuit makers to etch away copper, as well as other DIYers to artificially age brass, bronze and copper? And did you know that exact same combination will eat away at cured concrete? It's also awful on rebar.

Oh, it's very good pay. So that means I'll be able to work 1 to 2 days a week at most and earn enough to reduce my burn rate (haven't worked since July 2025), while I pursue SSDI. The gotcha is I need to track hours, for the SSA, meticulously, so they don't bring the hammer down.

Well, it looks like that part time online thing came through. They have some paid onboarding stuff. The first module took me nearly 6 hours. It was quite frustrating. The second one looks like it'll be similar. I'll do the second one sometime next week.

It is particularly important not to think some statistical model is a dead loved one. THEY ALREADY DEPARTED; YOU ARE TALKING TO A MODEL (and a model of a small fraction of what your loved one did to boot). (and you’ll to say goodbye anyway when the product is discontinued.)

Yes it is. The PAC wanting to diagnose me as that wouldn't listen either. I even gave the name of who diagnosed me... someone within M Health FV. So I had a week long stay. And yeah, I've been seeing signs that M Health FV is a big mess. But I'm so entwined with it so it's tough to break free.

"There are many associations on a national level that do not agree with this because they believe it will affect their interests," including revenues from the sale of proprietary systems, said Jose Cairo Gallardo, president of the Peruvian Free Software Association.

The government palace did not respond to phone and fax requests seeking the president's position on the issue.

In a move that went largely unnoticed, Congress voted 61-0 last Thursday to approve the legislation, which would prohibit any public institution from purchasing computer equipment that ties users to a particular type of software or "in any manner limits information autonomy."

It also bars public institutions from having a predetermined preference for either proprietary software, like Microsoft Corp.'s, in which the source code is mostly secret and licensing fees are charged for upgrades, or for open-source software, in which the underlying code is available to anyone wanting to revise or customize it.
