lol at whoever designed this study. Genius.
Lede from the story posted: "more than half of the men surveyed in a new harvard study claimed to recognize AI leaders who were, in fact, totally fictional."

From @niemanreports.org Fox News attacks the media roughly every 15 minutes, our study finds. (CNN? Every 140 minutes.) Full story: www.niemanlab.org/2026/10/fox-...
Bar chart titled “Figure 1: Inter-Journalism Disparagement Per 1,000 Words.” It compares how often three US cable news networks disparage other journalists. Fox has the highest rate at 0.415 instances per 1,000 words, about once every 14.5 minutes. MSNBC follows at 0.098, about once every 61 minutes, and CNN has the lowest rate at 0.043, about once every 140 minutes. Fox’s rate is roughly four times MSNBC’s and nearly ten times CNN’s. A note says 1,000 words equals 6 minutes of airtime. (Generated with AI)

Just shipped a tiny new label that shows which other journalists use a platform that supports Bundle Passes, Ghost, Beehiiv, or Steady.
Card of @tubetalkmedia in the new Collaborators tab. It shows a small label that reads 'Bundle Pass compatible' with the icon of the publishing platform Beehiiv.

Eine unterdiskutierte Stärke von Bundle Passes: Weniger Risiko, um neuen Journalismus zu entdecken. Sie laufen automatisch ab, was Verkäufe Experimenten signifikant ankurbeln kann.

One stat I watch when journalists run @trustfnd.com bundles is the full bundle rate. That's the share of people who are new to *all* publications in a bundle. I love the high numbers here. They mean that you're not just sharing audience, you're actually growing it for everybody.
Six donut charts showing full bundle rates across Trustfnd bundles: 91%, 79%, 71%, 67%, 61%, and 46%. Each figure is the share of buyers who subscribed to every newsletter in that bundle.

Love logging on to @sill.social to see that my network is tastefully but persistently sharing the Feminist Bundle. Get three months of all access to original reporting and analysis from @theflytrapmedia.com, @autonomynews.co, and @mothership.blog in a tidy bundle. trustfnd.com/collaboratio...
A sill.social link card for a Trustfnd 'Feminist Bundle.' The card header reads 'trustfnd' with the tagline 'Fund more creators you trust.' The title 'Feminist Bundle' appears above '3 collaborators,' shown as three circular creator logos. A maroon 'Get Bundle Pass' button sits below. Beneath the card, a Trustfnd link preview titled 'Trustfnd | Feminist Bundle' reads '3 creators collaborating,' followed by share, copy, bookmark, open, and mute icons. A yellow pill at the bottom reads 'Shared by 11 accounts' with overlapping account avatars.

I love this graph from the latest Reuters News Report. It shows the very different jobs Search and AI search for information and social media do for news consumers. Social media is *the better news app*, giving you the information you're interested in and maybe go deeper.
Bar chart titled "Proportion who say they have clicked through to the original news source for each reason in the last week," broken down by platform (AI chatbot, search engine, social or video network) across selected markets. For "I wanted more detail about the news," clickthrough was 51% via AI chatbot, 59% via search engine, and 60% via social/video. For "I wanted to verify that the news was correct," the pattern reverses: 44% AI chatbot, 36% search engine, 33% social/video. For "I wanted to find out more about the news source," again 43% AI chatbot, 35% search engine, 34% social/video. Source: Reuters Institute / University of Oxford Digital News Report 2026.

Shooting at Graefekiez in Berlin. We were sat on the terrace at a local restaurant when we heard what turned out to be a first set of gunshots. The second set was super close and everyone jumped up and ran inside. What we only saw later: one bullet hit the car two meters from our tables.

Stat #3: 80% That's the share of people who were new to all three publications in the bundle. This means, these journalists didn't just share audience, they found all-new people happy to pay for journalism together. And got paid in the process.

Stat #2: 30% After 30 days, the Bundle Pass expired. All journalists could then offer Bundle Pass holders an upgrade into their individual subscription. And for one of them, @katelynburns.com, 30% got an annual subscription! That's huge (tbf Katelyn is also a master journalism marketer.)
Me looking perfect and sane, with text saying "Bundle Pass holders took that offer."

OK one more, if I can be sincere for a hot second: It's a weird feeling when you read your hopes, dreams, visions printed on a site that lots of smarter-than-you peers read. Especially in an industry that can be snarky and unforgiving of failure. But that's also the fun of it?
“Our longer term vision is to enable independent entities to move like one when that is useful,” He continued. “So they can grow, earn, and spend money together. Like a new kind of news organization.”

How about a newsletter bundle?
A startup called Trustfnd is launching what it calls "Bundle Passes," allowing newsletter writers and other creators to team up and sell their paywalled content together. It feels like something we're going to see more of. Journalists Marisa Kabas, Kat Tenbarge and Katelyn Burns are piloting an "indie media bundle" by selling a discounted subscription to all three of their newsletters via Trustfnd.
"For years my readers have told me that they wished it was possible for them to have one place to sign up for all the newsletters they read, with one payment for everything," Burns wrote on Bluesky.
"I'm pleased to announce that is now possible!"
