Yeah -- as far as I know, you can "buy" digital 4K UHD versions of *all* of the Bond films at this point. (I could be wrong about that, but they're all supposedly buyable on Vudu/Fandango in 4K.)

The vast majority of creatives are struggling. Writers are leaving LA in droves. Directors are driving Uber when they aren't lucky enough to get gigs directing dubs or subs for foreign films. Recognizable actors are finding jobs they won't be recognized in. The whole industry is shitty right now.

What's bizarre is that I never took it that way. But as I pointed out back during this whole thing, I was raised in New England in the '70s and coffee ice cream was extremely popular at the time. It even gets an unrelated mention in Benchley's novel. So to me it was as if he said "chocolate."

That The Thing is a simultaneous triumph in both make-up/effects and paranoid, suspenseful filmmaking turns it into a miracle of sorts. It's John Carpenter firing on all gears and delivering a film that, in the 40+ years since its infamous release, has aged into a masterpiece.

While most folks are talking about Chuck Russell's directorial efforts like THE MASK, NIGHTMARE ON ELMSTREET 3, and THE BLOB, for my money his script for DREAMSCAPE was a *huge* inspiration for me & proved incredibly formative. My God, what a rad movie full of big ideas. Chuck was an amazing writer.

From my understanding, these details are half true. Spielberg initially turned it down. Howard Sackler wanted the sequel to be Indianapolis, but Universal wanted Brody/Amity. John Hancock shot for a month & was fired. Spielberg expressed interest in replacing him, tried to write a treatment, failed.
