One of the unsettling things about my recovery since getting hit by a truck has been the parallels with my father. He fell (as old people do) and broke his elbow. They "fixed" that, but the arm has since turned into a parody of an arm: just bones with skin and some tendons attached to it.

My favorite Tim Curry fact is that his Frank-N-Furter was the first character in popular media to wear a pink triangle as a proud queer signifier. At the time it was little known, except to Holocaust survivors and scholars. RHPS was a big step in reclaiming it. #TimCurry

Hi. On a break from social media, but I'm popping in to share a project I'm starting. Not sure what it'll look like, probably short. But I've got a concept and a title: HOMO, a prehistoric love story. One is Cro-Magnon, the other is Neanderthal, and they share a love that language has no word for.

I wrote a short JAQrabbit Tales script last night, just three pages. Even so, it had problems. The first page was difficult to depict, and I couldn't figure out how to handle the transitions from page 1 to 2 and page 2 to 3. I half-woke in the middle of the night, and ran ideas around in my head...

I like Nebula. It's a streaming service set up by a bunch of people who create quality programming – often with an educational angle – on YouTube, as a better home for that material. It's creator-owned, and they get paid by subscription fees instead of a toxic data-mining advertising scheme....

FUN FACT: Charlie Brown is not bald. He has blond hair, which his father (a barber) keeps trimmed so short that it's nearly invisible... except for the little floof on his forehead. Drawing him as "bald" was a shortcut that Charles Schulz used, to make him easy to draw. Unfortunately...

So @propublica.org has a blockbuster story about Jodi Ernst, who cast a critical vote on Hegseth and has great sway over defense matters, being in an 'inappropriate relationship' w/ a top general The story has responses from both -- and they aren't exactly denials www.propublica.org/article/joni...

A spokesperson for Ernst would not address whether the senator had any relationships with military legislative liaisons but said the lawmaker maintained her independence: “The fake news media is clearly too busy gossiping to report the real news that Senator Ernst is focused on cutting waste at the Pentagon. Her votes and work in the Senate are guided by the voices of Iowans who elected her and her constitutional duty alone. Any insinuation otherwise by tabloid ‘journalism’ is a slanderous lie — full stop.”

Finerty’s lawyer also declined to say whether the general had a romantic relationship with Ernst while he was advocating for the Air Force in Congress. “The IG report found no evidence suggesting anything remotely approaching either conflict of interest or undue influence involving General Finerty and anyone on Capitol Hill. Further, the IG report found no law, rule, policy or guidance prohibited any of General Finerty’s relationships. Any suggestion to the contrary would be defamatory.” (The inspector general report said Finerty “wrongfully engaged in inappropriate relationships with multiple individuals” in violation of the code of military justice.) In his interview with the inspector general, according to the report, Finerty defended relationships between people in his office and “members on the Hill” — a term used to describe members of Congress.

For me, the most difficult comix scenes to script are oral sex scenes. Which isn't hard to understand if you've ever had a partner ask you a question when you obviously have your mouth full. You have to either stop what you're doing or hold your answer for later....

In semi-fictionalizing myself online, one of my favorite recurring jokes is that Jonny Quest is my cousin. I’ve had the idea for this sexy “crossover” for a long time, and at one point I had a really great Hanna-Barbera-style artist lined up, but that went nowhere. So I’ve decided to do it myself.
