It's try-hard when they do. I have an uncle that worked in building, but visited on a weekend gifted-kid program school trip thing. Hit up other things, like Al Lewis (Grandpa from the Munster's) restaurant in the village, FAO Schwarz, the 21 Club, etc. I've old pictures from a disposable camera.

Yeah, it's never had the same balance. It's a lot of middling buildings, Freedom Tower included, rather than the substance the twin towers had. I still have commemorative squished pennies from the roof, but..

Will! We biked down from Midtown to Battery, ducked in to Fraunces Tavern, toured ships at South Street, hit up Chinatown for dinner. Plan on walking the bridge to the Transit Museum, if not next time then one of the next times, so I might alight on fae ground sooner or later!

Pro tip for retail interactions: become big and intimidating to win
A sketched scene of two anthro red pandas raising arms to be big and intimidating at each other. One is saying, "I want to speak to your manager." The other is replying, "I AM the manager." They are in an electronics shop and other customers mill about in the background.

Oh it's pretty easy to make, and they've got ready boxes at the store! It depends on the region of the country, too, there are some places settled by Germans, and it still shows, when it comes to cuisine.

A: Big Boy, (specifically en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_P...), is So Much Bigger than the pictures do justice to, and B: There's so much articulated, visible machinery set to a tangible purpose... The mechano-organic interstices of the locomotive feel like they're alive in a way.

Yeah! I've come no where near to running out of things to do there; this time, we snagged a bike from Midtown, took bike paths to Battery Park, got a drink at Fraunces Tavern, toured South Street, the Wavertree and Ambrose ships, and ducked up to Chinatown before taking the ferry back.

It's a place called Harmony Beverage (and they did have plenty of drinks, naturally) that my family would regularly hit up on the way to the Poconos mountains, in Pennsylvania. We got a few bags of extra dark roasted in shell salted peanuts, too!

There was a set of people who understood that this was the research that the market would never support on its own, and yet whose value could be immense, and were content to leverage the fact. Without this wind at their backs, though, unrestrained finance runs unchecked, until, well. Here we are.

I suppose nothing like it will find a place in American institutions now, public or private. Not to over-romanticize the oddities of such a time and place, but, the work today feels so much like devising better scams to entrap people in one malign scheme or another, and anything else is incidental.

They have, in building, explanations of all the things discovered or developed by at Bell Works, and all the workers who got Nobel Prizes from their research here, and it was a little overwhelming. To see so much hinge on a place like this, and wonder, what place is like that now, if any?

Yeah, it's mostly the distance of the shots, once you get past the water tower and onto the horizon, they were doing more of a composite with an upper Hudson river shot, often with that bridge. Where this is in reality is much more flat in the distance, sandy, more ocean influenced.

An earlier cousin, I looked this up earlier as well! I've got to wonder what Bell Works was like when it was all Bell. It's kind of hard to imagine one business occupying that entire space, now, given how deeply varied the tenants were inside now.

Goodbye blue. The true hue.
A scene in all blue hues, depicting Zyonji, the anthropomorphic striped hyena, standing on a bridge with a fait cityscape in the far distance. Zyonji wears a blue dress with an aquatic print and many decorative elements adorned on it. Zyonji's hair is softly animated by a gentle wind.

Well, selling your soul could help one end up caprine, too, which could be part of the solution! But, yeah, no regrets, this was extra minty, at least worth a lien on your soul for, I'd say.

Their menu has page and pages of desserts, and I have but one stomach. This is my fault, I should have chosen the caprine model instead.

Grilled Cheese, Creme de Menthe Sundae, at the Riverside Creamery in Port Jervis, NY, close to closing for the season. :9
What looks like a house converted into a restaurant called the Riverside Creamery. White with pink highlights, it looks like it might need to be repainted soon, but is otherwise lively. The old fashioned interior of the Riverside Creamery, with checkerboard pattered tables, a warm color scheme, bar seating, and lots of signage behind the bar. A delicious grilled cheese sandwich, with pickles on the side, in a basket, on checkerboard paper, black and white.A Creme de Menthe Sundae, with Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, mint chocolate chunks, whipped cream, and fudge.

A drawing referencing the quoted post audio, featuring Ryan, an anthro/furry raccoon, and Nes, an anthro/furry kangaroo.

Ryan looks down amused at what he's made. Nes leans into the doorway, asking, "What are you doing in here?!" Ryan responds, "Doin' some DJ stuff! I call this... Evil September."

It's all the worse if it's some bias from whatever the AI helping write the code now has been digesting, I imagine. I've, at times, halted any automatic updates, but the longer it's been the preference at Microsoft, the harder it is to prevent this, and choose what gets adjusted or not.

Suddenly, computer starts putting itself to sleep, when all my settings remain set to 'never do this'. Have to do a registry thing to change the fact (we'll see if it works). Why did this behavior start? Heaven knows. Microsoft seems to decide these things gleefully and capriciously these days.
