En el evento de procomer que se hizo en la antigua aduana, se promovía a CR como país seguro, de paz, biodiverso. Al mismo tiempo que las empresas de acá estaban vendiendo al país así de cara a empresas de inversión o que podrían venir al país, la presidenta entró en el lugar, cerró todas las entradas, puso a 2 guardaespaldas en cada entrada y una fila enorme de seguridad en el medio y se puso a decir como gran cosa que si se tenían que talar zonas para poner empresas lo hacía. Muchos de los visitantes que estaban considerando a costa rica dijeron: si son tan seguros, tan en paz y le dan importancia a sus recursos, por qué su presidenta evidencia todo lo contrario?

A mi empresa un cliente de USA nos canceló un contrato de servicios para trasladarse a El Salvador porque pusieron a costa rica como país sumamente inseguro, y era una empresa dedicada al turismo. Nosotros no tuvimos argumentos para contradecir esa lista.
