I added gondolas and put whole plane in satin, sanded and rebuffed the wing decals, added resin as lights and stretched clear sprue position light. One 3d printed cannon gondola is warped 🤯 and decals misprint killed the mojo. I'm about done. I don't have skill for more #histscalemodels #ItaliaGB

I took pointers from @twai.bsky.social and @stefjn.bsky.social and laid multiple soft layers and lastly a wet one. Thank you! The edge betweent successful wet coat and pooling is like catching the optimal time to eat an avocado. I think I managed in the end though. #histscalemodels #ItaliaGB

I had an additional session today for the anti-glare, including the matt varnish on it. Now, will anyone tell me how to lay ak gloss varnish without it making drying drops on the surface? I used all ak varnish+retarder (5:1) mixture 1:1 with the thinner. I already gave up on Vallejo #histscalemodels

I think I quite managed to repair all the mistakes I made during the last several sessions and also today. I will see if the top grey keeps the unified shade when dry. I am afraid to touch it again, but I have to yet add the anti-glare stripe in front of cockpit #ItaliaGB #histscalemodels

#histscalemodels In last few days i primed, sanded and laid first two colours down. I have a problem with decoding the correct colour for the camo and how to lighten it for 1/72. The kit box says bluegrey, but when you start digging, you end up at medium gunship grey 🤷 Not blue at all... #ItaliaGB

The project is changing every minute. First of all, halves of the fuselage didn't fit very well, so putty/glue and lot of sanding. After hours of work on cockpit, I found the transparent parts really thick & ill-fitting. The blue camo turns out to be in reality gunship grey & dark green. #ItaliaGB

I'm trying to solve a ridiculous problem in the build. Guide calls for 16g of nose weight and there is no way i will be able to fit that much in. I tried to stick all the wings etc on plane and balance it and it seems less is needed. But you never know... #histscalemodels #ItaliaGB

I don't have much experience with short runs, but I expected worse. Lot of sanding and cutting, but it is not as bad as old kopro. So far I am dry fitting and sorting out confused part numbers in the guide. T'was making me to use part of landing gear as control column 😀 #histscalemodels #ItaliaGB

I moved forward in constructing the trainer's cockpit for #ItaliaGB. It was quite spartan so I upped it a little bit. Scratchbuilt masking tape seatbelts, instead of awful decal ones, took me 3 hours in 1/72 with my shaky hands. Won't be visible anyway 😄 #histscalemodels

The Mosquito is almost done. I tend to overdo weathering, but the look at it with props on makes me happy. Didn't even ruin the canopy despite making own mask and it worked out well. It was fulfilling moment when taking of the masking tape. As a bonus 3yo's Aichi paint job 😅🤣 #histscalemodels

Multiple projects ongoing at the same time. To the Tamiya Mosquito, I started Miniart Dora and absolutely horrendous Aichi by ZTS Plastyk, which is intended to be painted by my 4yo so idc. Do the thick tamiya decals peel or do i need to sand them down? Does anyone know? #histscalemodels

Airfix Spitfire mk.22. I call it #finishedkits before i destroy it by some more tweaking. S ared to add more gloss. When cutting canopy parts out of sprue, pieces of it got ripped off 🙄. Spinner is backwards. It was fun, nevertheless. Now towards ruining the Mosquito 🙈 #histscalemodels

I thought to rest from perfect detailed kits and bought zts plastyk model of RWD-6 for 3€. The 1970's tool didn't age well at all (clear parts the most) and so i dont need to feel sorry to experiment. So far I scratch build canopy, which is horrible but still better than in the kit. #histscalemodels

I also cut flaps and slats. Nothing fits together so i propped wings with two brass wires.

It is fleshy and brittle, so I had to also sub one undercarriage leg with brass pipe

The original cockpit canopy was yet less seethrough than this so i don't even mind my low skill. Siddley Armstrong Genet Major engine is majorly deformed, so I'm working on it's detailing separately

Every step of build I mess something up, stencils break, scratches, accidental glove prints. Antenna is glued on 4x. But I still like it. Won't take it to any competition tho 😃 at least I didn't scratch the glass this time. Yet wires and weathering left... And whatever breaks off 🙈 #histscalemodels
