Our Wildlife Interpreter takeover wraps up with this fun fact! Did you know that an eagle talons grip when they are relaxed? It actually takes muscle energy to open them, the opposite of how our hands work! #BaldEagle #EagleFeet #InterpreterTakeover #WildlifeEducation

"This is the fast I desire: to unlock the fetters of wickedness, & untie the cords of lawlessness. To let the oppressed go free; to break off every yoke. It is to share bread with the hungry, & to take the wretched poor into your home...Then shall your light burst through like the dawn." Isaiah 58

Today in two things can be true at once: - A single AI query does not use 16 ounces of water. Not even close. - Cumulatively data centers use more water (and electricity) than we can afford and lack plans for addressing that cost. www.forbes.com/sites/robert...

How Much Water Does AI Use? The $58 Billion Risk
How much water does AI use? Peak data center demand could require up to $58 billion in new U.S. water infrastructure, shifting the debate beyond prompts.

The sort of person who demands someone new to a field or genre "start with the classics" is often making it more difficult for a novice to engage. Expecting someone to onboard decades of context and cultural difference is a lot to ask at any age. People are usually hoping for fun, not for classwork.

We don’t talk enough about how much of our days have become entangled in determining what’s real. What’s genuine. What’s human or what’s synthetic. What’s worth our time after having already spent it. It’s a grotesque skill we’ve all been forced to master, and a waste of energy none of us can spare.

Listen, Tenar. Heed me. You were the vessel of evil. The evil is poured out. It is done. It is buried in its own tomb. You were never made for cruelty and darkness; you were made to hold light, as a lamp burning holds and gives its light.

Starting Dungeon Crawler Carl 8. The books are all about having to survive in a rigged system, which I think is why they resonate now. Also: “Elle: Donut, I love you, but have you ever considered not saying everything that comes to you the moment it pops into your head?” “Donut: WHAT DO YOU MEAN?”

The oddest thing about the response to this essay is people who say it’s “personal”. You can disagree about some or all of it! I may well be wrong! But it’s not “personal” to analyze a film or other work of art, even negatively. Criticism is more than “Hurray!” or “Hiss!”
