I watched both Alien and It when I was definitely too young. I mean they scare adults. so no great surprise. someone should have definitely prevented that somehow. at least it was some good old-fashioned analogue night-terrors rather than AI-generated Elsa and Spiderman cannibalising each other.

stayed awake until 9pm and then went to sleep, alarm set for 6:45, a solid 9 hours and up in time for the plane. no worries. then my body is absolutely insistent that I wake at 3am for some reason. which is 9pm body clock time, so it doesn't even make sense! who the fuck knows.

There are some pieces of paleoart that to my eye are so fantastic that I regularly come back to them to just stare and marvel them. Peter Trusler has made many such pictures but these 3 particular ones are just of such exquisite quality that they take my breath away every time.

ended up staying in co-working accommodation mostly because of the location and the cost, but I've found to my disgust that I'm quite enjoying going to the "office", having a proper desk and chair rather than working in cafés and pounding back soft drinks, saying good morning to the same people.

interviews have significantly modernised and become less strict and deferent over my working years, as hiring managers have also got younger and less hidebound. now the millennials who have benefited from that have decided that the new status quo is correct and are condescending to Gen Z about it.

in terms of ratio of bad writing to good, I think it would have to be something popular and contemporary which attracts little or no academic attention, so the critical writing is largely folk analysis, tumblr and post-tumblr, fan wikis and so forth. so I don't know Homestuck or something.
