Today, ITERATE, my exhibition with 3 other members of Royal Society of Sculptors opens at Strange Parade in SE London. I'm showing two bodies of work using pins: one uses thousands as component parts, the other used just one as a tool. Both use short bursts of text, and in some cases, a single word.

RIP Dolly Parton, a fabulous songstress, a glitzy delight, and a wise woman, who should also be remembered for her Imagination Library, a global book gifting programme devoted to inspiring a love of reading in children from birth to five.

I’m totally going to be out there doing that! Though when I did this on a previous occasion, a neighbour observed that he’d seen me dancing in the rain. (As though it was the most abnormal thing to do after a drought!)

Dead and buried - and probably a bit sassy…

Not an academic work, but I have a great many ancestors’ wills, dating from C16th > and most (especially the early ones) were literally written on the day or day before, so very close to time of demise!

Their tiny wings carry the future of our planet. Protect bees. Plant more flowers. Avoid harmful pesticides. Together, we can keep Earth blooming for generations to come. Let them live. Because when bees thrive, life thrives.

Feargal Sharkey brands '£100billion' cost of nationalising water 'nonsense'. Spot on. They inflate investment by capitalising part of interest, repair/maintenance cost. Govt says Thames Water is worth £21bn. KKR wouldn't pay £4bn. Govt must enforce environmental laws, bankrupt them. Nationalise.

Mummified remains of a dog from Egypt, resembling Anubis. The number of animals mummified increased rapidly during the Late and Ptolemaic Period, perhaps a demonstration of Egyptian self-identity or a sign of the times and people needing all the help they can get 🏺 #AncientBluesky #Egyptology

I still love the theory a Year 6 child proposed to me that David Attenborough is actually God and he got fed up with people not noticing the amazing things he'd created, so he made documentaries to show off.

One of the most amazing apotropaic markings I've ever seen is carved into the font at St. George's Church, Clun. This intricate hexafoil pattern invoked protection wherever it was and protected against maleficent spirits and ill intent. #apotropaic #folklore #history #churchcrawling #churches
