#GenHour I knew @lisamag13.bsky.social would be the perfect person to explore a new series to share #FamilyHistory Migration Stories. 🧳 Join us in the livestream on Sunday (Monday in Asia/Pac) Here's the link to join from any web browser, no registration needed: open.substack.com/live-stream/...
One of Projectkin's most popular recordings has been a Special program I did with Lisa Maguire of Ancestory. The post was on Micro History, “Family History Asks Large Questions in Small Places,” from August 2025. It dawned on me that she would be the perfect person to bring into the ongoing conversation I'd started a few weeks ago with Jennifer Jones about Migration Stories.

So, I've invited Lisa to join me for this livestream. Here's the link to join from the Substack app or any web browser: Open.substack.com/live-stream/177257.

Jennifer Jones @jennifer-jones.bsky.social has registered another #OnePlaceStudy with us! The subject of Whroo One-Place Study is a once thriving but now vanished gold-mining town in Victoria, #Australia, and the lives of those who settled there, over the period from 1850 to 1900. #OnePlaceWednesday
Whroo One-Place Study.
Image: Photo of an abandoned open-cut gold-mining site, a rocky chasm with shrubs and trees now growing in the bottom, grasses on the slope leading down to it (in the foreground), and more trees on the high ground beyond. A fence, presumably following the course of a path running down to the bottom of the slope, extends from near the bottom right corner of the picture.
