Saw @scott.hanselman.com’s guide to configure @ohmyposh.dev for the @github.com Copilot CLI, so I built a proper integration. One script, one config, and a dedicated segment that shows everything you need. Interested? ohmyposh.dev/docs/install...

Drove this puppy all the way to the south of France last week with zero issues. Usually my kids and spouse get carsick after a while but nothing this time. They opposed getting a Tesla due to obvious reasons, but there’s no denying this is a really great car.

@ohmyposh.dev now integrates seamlessly with @anthropic.com Claude Code, bringing real‑time AI session insights and development context directly into the statusline. Model info, token usage and cost tracking all underneath your prompt 🚀 dev.to/jandedobbele...

Wait? Is this oh-my-posh running natively inside Claude Code? Happy holidays everyone!

Open source didn’t hand me car keys. But building in public taught me to code, communicate, take feedback & grow. Habits → skills → opportunities → career. And that career? It bought the car. Open source unlocked the path to earn it.

As you can see I was able to significantly improve the regular initialization for PowerShell as well. This had been an interesting development. Hope to add support for async loading to all supported shells this week.

Jan De Dobbeleer @jan.ohmyposh.dev · 27/05/2025

Small update on where I am with this one. I think I nailed it. There's now the option to load async, which will improve initialization by a factor of 2 on top of the previously mentioned speed improvements.

Okay then, @microsoft.com Store. It’s an unusual guideline, but I can roll with it if you insist ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What a whirlwind year! 🌪️ This summer, I raised funds for a Surface Laptop to enhance Windows support. In November, Oh My Posh won the Microsoft Store Award in Developer Tools, earning a souped-up Surface Pro! Thanks to everyone who nominated us! 😍

It’s been a crazy year. Over the summer I raised money for a Surface Laptop to better support Windows and in November Oh My Posh wins the Microsoft Store Awards in the Developer Tools category. That one apparently comes with a beefed up Surface Pro! Thanks to everyone who nominated Oh My Posh 😍

This week was crazy. I loved every second at SF being surrounded by amazing individuals. Imposter syndrome was real, but what a unique experience. So honored to be part of this community.

Jan is standing next to his GitHub Star printed on the floor like the Hollywood walk of fame.

My starstruck moment at @github.com Universe was meeting @filmgirl.bsky.social. You don’t easily get a meet a fellow nerd sneaker head (and I didn’t know that). Amazing person, really great conversation.

It’s a wrap! Had an amazing 4 days at SF for @github.com Universe. Met so many great individuals, had inspiring conversations and saw so much cool new stuff we all should be excited about. What a week ❤️

This was a good day. Never really got the whole NFT vibe, but what NIKE does by combining physical and virtual products, it’s interesting.

Did you know Oh My Posh has native support for shell integrations? Simply set shell_integration to true in your config and immediately benefit from Windows Terminal's new right-click context menu in the latest preview 😍 #msbuild

These skates are Roces Majestic 12. The boot has been around since forever but it’s still really good as long as you don’t have wide feet. On that topic, I have a pair of brand new first edition M12’s from 1996 on my book shelf at home. Like every midlife crisis human, I’m a sucker for nostalgia.

I’m not on bluesky to read about bluesky just like I wasn’t on Mastodon to read about Mastodon either. So, what’s everyone up to? I just went skating.

Had a look at the stats for ohmyposh.dev and it seems to be at around 40K unique users and 10 million site hits per month. That's pretty crazy. Feeling like a little social network here.
