Drove this puppy all the way to the south of France last week with zero issues. Usually my kids and spouse get carsick after a while but nothing this time. They opposed getting a Tesla due to obvious reasons, but there’s no denying this is a really great car.

You might not know oh-my-posh has an MCP server because I never told anyone before due to playing with the possibilities, but thinking about it, a skill that leverages it to create valid configurations based on a conversation would make a lot of sense.

Been digging into IO performance for oh-my-posh to optimize session & device cache reads. Swapped out unnecessary boxing with gob encoding for a nice runtime boost. But discovering memory-mapped files on Windows? Total game-changer.

There were a few things I did not check, but they've been fixed in the meantime. Make sure to upgrade to v26.0.3 to benefit from these. If you still see an issue on that version, reach out.

This release is currently building. I tested it as much as I could and it seems to work everywhere. But I’m still worried as it does change the way we initialize the shell which could still introduce side effects. We’ll see. Worst case I revert this part.

Small update on where I am with this one. I think I nailed it. There's now the option to load async, which will improve initialization by a factor of 2 on top of the previously mentioned speed improvements.

Corporate environments seem to be built to foster mediocrity. Ambitious reorganizations are set in motion but rarely come to fruition, and those with true vision either burn out or walk away, leaving behind only those who thrive in the comfort of mediocrity. It appears to be the natural order.

Remember this one? Due to this realization I made @ohmyposh.dev 3 times faster to initialize. Most shells now have an almost instant start up, and PowerShell went from 1.5 seconds in most cases to 400/500ms. 🚀🧑‍🚀
