Jamie Wood @jamiewoodmaths.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I don't think you can do it nicely in the complex mode on desmos as far as I know. You can do something like this though to cobble it together 110
Jamie Wood @jamiewoodmaths.bsky.social · 22/09/2026jammyix.github.io/orderoftrans... There is now a section for both af(x)+b and f(ax+b) Enjoy and let me know any feedback (or horrific errors!) 372
Jamie Wood @jamiewoodmaths.bsky.social · 17/09/2026This inspired me to make something with claude about transformations of the form f(ax+b) Have a play with it here: jammyix.github.io/orderoftrans... (well aware there are many similar versions of this about online with desmos etc, but wanted to see what claude could do) 2103

Jamie Wood @jamiewoodmaths.bsky.social · 02/12/2025This was on a local company's website, selling firewood A lot of "interesting" maths in here to unpack! Stick this on the board and see what students notice. 100
Jamie Wood @jamiewoodmaths.bsky.social · 28/04/2025As of yesterday, as Liverpool won the league, the list of Premier League winning teams now forms a Fibonacci sequence 😎 000
Jamie Wood @jamiewoodmaths.bsky.social · 14/11/2024This is AQA GCSE Nov 2019 Paper 3 Q27. I think there are several cases where XY and PQ would be parallel, as there are basically no restrictions on where the vertices are. E.g. what if PQRS is a rectangle? Any thoughts? Is this an oversight in the question? 100
Jamie Wood @jamiewoodmaths.bsky.social · 11/11/2024Thinking up names like this is honestly one of the highlights of my job 010
Jamie Wood @jamiewoodmaths.bsky.social · 22/09/2024Spec is def not clear but this is from the Pearson tbook, feels like it's presented as "you should know these" (sadly). I hate having to tell them to remember stuff like this; should definitely be in the formula book IMO. (esp considering how much stuff is in there that isn't actually useful!) 020
Jamie Wood @jamiewoodmaths.bsky.social · 17/09/2024Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #2,405,561! 010
Jamie Wood @jamiewoodmaths.bsky.social · 06/09/2024Been working with lots of AP Calc stuff recently and they are quite picky about their wording for graphs/functions. E.g. look at this. Notice it talks about the graph of f being concave down, rather than just f being concave down 110
Jamie Wood @jamiewoodmaths.bsky.social · 21/08/2024Old spec OCR core 1 paper; a thing of beauty IMO 020
Jamie Wood @jamiewoodmaths.bsky.social · 15/08/2024It's here on android, not sure if similar on web/iOS 100
