Literally the first sentence of the article names him as former ACT Party president. Like, absolutely take your swings about headline choices but the narrative that the media is "protecting ACT" is conspiracy theory stuff. FWIW I agree there are problems with the coverage, but that's not it.
First paragraph of the article: Days after the former ACT Party President accepted, for the first time, he had sexually abused all his teenage victims..."

Yesterday my wife, a GP, clocked out at 5pm. Stayed at the clinic until 5:45 when she had to go to a class, then spent time with the kids before bedtime. ➡️Then she worked on her laptop until 3 am⬅️ This is not unusual for GPs. It's happening every day, and it's because of under-reaourcing #nzpol

PSA If you own a domain e.g. mybusiness.co.nz then you can get the email myname@mybusiness.co.nz and forward it to your Gmail for essentially free. You can even sent mail "from" that address from your personal Gmail. You should never need to paint mybusiness@gmail.com on the side of your van!

I think it's pretty clear what I was trying to achieve with this Google search. Thanks AI 🙄 Luckily Wikipedia came to the rescue with my copy-paste symbol
The results of a Google search for "tm symbol". The first result is an AI overview explaining what a trademark symbol is, but not providing an example that can be copied and pasted. Below that is an actual search result from Wikipedia, which helpfully provides the actual ™ symbol.

Justified text was once popular because it looked neat, but that very neatness made it hard to find your place! You still see it a lot in academic/legal documents and books. I'd like to eliminate it in all these cases! (only use justified text in narrow columns, where it helps separate the columns)
A block of justified text. Red lines show how it's difficult for the reader to find their place, because all the lines end in the same position.

The text reads: "Please, please my beautiful people, left-align your text. You may think centre-aligned looks pretty, but it’s hard to read, especially in large blocks. Ditto for justified text. Left-aligned text leaves these lovely intents on the right, which help you subconsciously keep your place, and your eye always knows where to go to find the start of the next line on the left."

You may think centre-aligned looks pretty, but it’s hard to read, especially in large blocks. (it's ok to use centre alignment for headings or short single paragraphs, if the situation calls for it)
A block of centre-aligned text. A red line shows how it's difficult or slow for the reader to find the start of the next line.

The text reads: "Please, please my beautiful people, left-align your text. You may think centre-aligned looks pretty, but it’s hard to read, especially in large blocks. Ditto for justified text. A left-aligned block of text. Green lines show how the alignment helps the reader distinguish the end of the line, and find the new line.

If y'all want to see what sexism (or... something) looks like, try a stock image search for "woman sleeping" vs "man sleeping"
A lot of conventionally good looking white women sleeping on beds in beautiful locations, in improbably sexy pyjamas.A lot of scruffy, fully clothed men sleeping hodge-podge in random locations like cars, park benches and concrete steps.

I'll finish off by saying that I only read the first book of Nix's The Seventh Tower series, The Fall. And... I don't know why I didn't read more. I still think about it. A wicked tale of adventure in a strange but slightly familiar world (a Nix trademark). Why didn't I read the others? Well...

Shade's Children was chilling. It may have been too much for young young adults, but it had all the grittiest elements of Suzanne Collins' Mockingjay. Dystopian future, kids in danger, moral quandry, and brutal disgusting murder in the name of fascism and revolution.

Then there's the Keys to the Kingdom series. These were fun, a lot of fun. Even in my teens I really enjoyed Nix's fantastical take on how bureaucracy can hide evil. Yeah, that doesn't sound like much of a blurb, but READ MISTER MONDAY! It's more relevant today than ever! And fun! I promise!

So of course, I went back and read Sabriel. Obviously, it wasn't actually necessary to read this first. Side note - GOD I love an author who writes their trilogies as stand-alone books. More witchy, bades-out, badassery.

They're (mostly) all young adult fantasy books, but don't let that put you off if that's not your thing. They go hard. Let's start with the Abhorsen Trilogy, I think probably his best-known works. I was actually introduced to these in 2001 when Lirael came out (I was only 7 when Sabriel came out).
