Because my George Floyd PTSD is having a reaaaallly great time (this is sarcasm, BTW): My distraction is this ELNA sewing machine that SUPRISE! Has the cam for the duck stitch in the box! Was gonna buy the cam, but glad that my buying instincts lucked out!! Now to just see if she sews.

ELNA Suprematic (estimated circa 1950s). Bought it as it only had one owner and the motor still runs! Its a tone-tone green model. The free arm of the machine has the accessories box that has the CAMs, including the rare duck stitch cam!!

So, a little over two weeks ago I went on an epic River Run through the Grand Canyon. I didn't have my phone, just a camera, some books, and a journal. But I also have a brain that LOVES music, so my internal radio was on. And this resulted in Playlist from days 2-9 of the 10 day trip.

Photo from the first day of the trip right before we did a 2nd pass of the Navajo Bridge (the first was walking across the Historic version). It's a partially cloudy but clear day ans the canyons is in full effect.

World's Largest Rubber duck in the middle of a festival in Princeton, MN (aka outer ring suburban town in the Twin Cities Metro). The yellow duck towers over the crowd, piercing the blue sky and has a sunray going straight and starkly sown on it. The big duckie is also flanked bu a tinier, but ford-model-T sized rubber duckie.

Need this on a T-Shirt stat!!

The Minnesota shaped stone statue with a pop-out 90s esque signage on top in red that says "Minnesota". You normally see this statue on the state borders. This picture has one difference in that under the Minnesota line, theres a photoshopped serif font with "Bring ya ass." Made famous by Anthony "Ant" Edwards of the Timberwolves.

So finished my ducky morning by going to the Minnehaha Duck Race finish and cleanup.

A small group of rubber ducks speedily going down Minnehaha creek. The photo has this scene sandwhiched between 1 tree trunk on the left, and several tree trunks kn the right.

Behind the overgrowth in the foreground of the picture, you can see a kayaker loosening rubber duckies from their tree branch jail for collecting post the race.

My gender identity is obsessed with ducks.

A rubber duckie themed earring set. The big backing is a cool glasses wearing rubber duckie with a knife, then top row has small stud star, heart, and crystal earrings. Next row is rubber duck, golden runner sick, and cool rubber duck earings. Lowest row is a bubble bath, chain earrings with a star ending in a rubby duck, and the last pair is a string of hearts with the words "duck" and "off".

And we're getting slow now but got teenagers who had a small debate over what was the best rubber Duck, Pumpkin or Ghost

Two glow-in-the dark mini rubber ducks in a big human hand. The duck to the left is a duck inside a jack'o lantern with the lid as a hat, the other is a duck dressed as ghost, but wrapped in a sheet with its face poking out (as opposed to a full covering which would be a little more problematic)

This week was rough, but I made a cake I hadn't made in over a decade and let me tell you 30s Jam with the help of Baking YouTube made some improvements!!

2011 attempt at a Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake (from the Sky High Cake Book and Smitten Kitchen Blog). Much taller than expected, playdough application of peanut butter icing, and the chocolate drip was too liquid and not ganache-y as the recipe displayed.

2023 at Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake (from the Sky High Cake Book and Smitten Kitchen Blog). Cake was much more even and properly proportioned, icing attempt while frustrating much more clean, and that chocolate covering was gooey in all the right ways!!
