Thinking about Glitchtrap a bit I think it makes way more sense and in character for Afton to purposely try and influence the Mimic to be like him after stealing from Edwin than just randomly possessing part of its code for some reason literally just his “Plan B” incase he dies

I have this fun headcanon that after Edwin abandoned the Mimic, William took it in as his own personal project to become a mirror of him, but when Henry joins FE, he forgets about it completely, making the Mimic feel abandoned and spiteful, being why goes rouge in SOTM
