Keanu_reevebooks @jamesgameboy.bsky.social · 5hRolled credits on Grandia. Very good game. Wouldn't have minded if it were like 1 notch more difficult but it's a breezy RPG with lots of numbers to make go up and solid characters. Might look around for 3 at PRGE this weekend since the collection also includes 2. 030

Keanu_reevebooks @jamesgameboy.bsky.social · 11hFinal Fantasy XII by Hitoshi Sakimoto: not a popular pick but I love this score. It's simultaneously grand and messy, as if the orchestra was only given one take on each track. The lead lines can be a little noodly but damn he was GOING for it with this. Overflowing with good stuff if unfocused 010
Keanu_reevebooks @jamesgameboy.bsky.social · 11hFinal Fantasy XIII by Masashi Hamauzu: they've jumped around since Uematsu left but Hamauzu would be my pick to do the next 10 entries. For me this stacks up with the best of the series and is a solid wall to wall experience. Great sense of motif AND texture, a rare combo. 110
Keanu_reevebooks @jamesgameboy.bsky.social · 11hFinal Fantasy VI by Nobuo Uematsu: this is the score that made me fall in love with video game music. It's still great. The coherence while maintaining variety I think is the big step up from IV and V, and his motif game sharpens from an already amazing level. This album turns my brain purplish blue 110

She also learns a lot about teamwork and sacrifice throughout the game, and as a mage has both natural range and support. Even has Runic, which I think translates well to perimeter defense. 161
