Devolution is already working in our regions, but this government is unleashing its full potential by giving mayors greater powers.     Today marks a major milestone, giving us the flexibilities we need to deliver the better transport, skills and greener homes we need to boost our economy.

It’s been a busy few days but ahead of the English Devolution White Paper launch next week, it was great to catch up with the Chancellor #rachelreeves and fellow #mayors from across the country to discuss what we’ll need from #Treasury to ensure growth is felt across the country.

Today was an historic and emotional day in the House of Commons for the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill. See a statement below on why I chose to vote for the Bill.

Co-operators are working across Parliament to deliver on priorities like ending violence against shop workers, doubling the size of the co-operator sector, community ownership and energy. Our biggest group of MPs, and all keen to make a difference. 🐝

This Labour Government is getting on with the job. 🎖️Supporting veterans with a new Armed Forces Commissioner. 👧Protecting our most vulnerable by overhauling the children’s social care system. 🚂Full steam ahead with public ownership of our railways.

It's @usdawunion.bsky.social 'Respect for Shopworker Week'. I visited the Co-op in Woodlesford, to hear directly about retail crime and antisocial behaviour. Labour has committed to make attacking a retail worker a specific offence, as well as plans to restore neighbourhood policing.

Today I held a public meeting in Haxby on the issue of Anti-Social Behaviour that has been an issue that many residents have emailed me about. Pleased to be joined by Jo Coles, Deputy Mayor for Police Fire and Crime, and I will continue to work with her on improving safety in our communities.

Earlier this week, I spoke in a debate on rural affairs about flooding, biosecurity, and farmers’ mental health. As Chair of the APPG for Food Security, I’ll be doing more work on each of these topics, which are really important for farmers in York Outer and across the country.

Every day in November I'll be running a 5K to raise awareness and funds for Menfulness- a fantastic local charity fighting stigma around men's mental health. If you see me around York and North Yorkshire, give me a wave, and if you can, please donate at: justgiving.com/page/mayors5k
