Voyager, Season 7: Critical Care? The lower level had a red asthetic and the upper levels had a metalic blue one, thats what made me go to that. Or its some kind of alien data theft device? They tended to get big white cycling lamps too.

You could see through the snow speeders, or they had massive matte lines, but most people now haven't seen the film comped effect. Hell, the falcon in Jedi is literally just a painting and a model...

Space 1999 being the reason the blockade runner model isn't the Falcon, does make it an unusually common touchstone in Star Wars design.

The Eagle Lander from the opening titles of Gerry Anderson's Space 1999.

The original Millennium Falcon before it was turned into the Blockade Runner. Lucas felt that it looked to much like the Eagle in “Space 1999” and ordered a new design.

What springs to mind is "Cat and Mouse." S2 Ep16, canonically the first episode, a small ship with a cloak breaks a blockade... Which of course in no way matches The Empire Strikes Back where Captain Needa says "No ship that small has a cloaking device.” So they made it longer than the falcon.

But its not a retcon? She was allways Ms.Marvel. To my mind Captain Marvel suits her better though as a title in the modern age. Would anyone now even know Ms. Marvel was a refrence to the feminist Ms. Magazine, which often featured Wonder Woman on the cover?

The big matte painting! The little emblums of a culture long past vusual iconography and sinage. There were a few interesting elements that were lost to the push towards a Species influenced/ giger-esque, bio mechanical, slightly chitinous apearance.

Jessica Jones has this horrible tendancy to be drawn like she is MJ's twin sister now. How she was introduced was far more intresting and enigmatic. She isin't average, she was actively in hiding. As they lost that quality, the mystique around her faded.

Prowls eyes burn out of his skull as he drops dead so its certanly continuing a tradition. They just did not market the film at all. Same deal with the D&D movie, no idea what was going on at paramount.

There is a painfull irony in looking at the trailer for Once Upon a Time in a Cinema (2026) in cineworld dublin with bright lights on the screen while having to wear turned off headphones to block out the 107db sound. Cinemas you love that are falling appart is not just for the past.

As a kid it was the M.A.S.K. toy tie in comic for Fleetway in the uk. First american comic was The Rocketeer Adventure Magazine #2 by Dave Stevens.

In the UK M.A.S.K continued to thrive with and amazing standalone 80 issue run from 25th October 86 to 22nd October 1998. Published initially by IPC Magazines then under Fleetway Publications in 1987, it started as a fortnightly publication then hit newsstands weekly on the 10th of October 1987 with issue No 26. Eventually M.A.S.K was merged with Eagle on the 29th of October 1988 with issue No. 345 and was last published in issue No. 366.

There is a show on Disney called Tracker and he has a pick up truck like that. He's tall (6'2") but the truck is taller than him and every so often they have him try to inconspicuously follow people... In a truck the size of a small moon. Its quite funny.
