Ahhh yes. The 4K for which we're all chomping at the bit. When your pathetic 1080p is not sufficient clarity for the Circle of Shit...

GTFO. Lee Grant is 52ish here? She looks like a babe compared to Holden… and Holden is only 60? He looks older than Peck (who was also 60 in The Omen).

I cannot argue. Stunning in black & white.

Lee Remick -- who's 40 in #TheOmen -- playing opposite Gregory Peck (60) makes their age difference look even more gappy. Since we're on the subject, here's a promo photo for Anatomy of a Murder featuring 24yo Lee Remick.

Father Brennan has a hell of a filmography. I couldn't place the actor, but I felt like it was a Hammer film. (And I was right about something... because THE GORGON!) But then I saw how I should have/could have recognized him from five other movies and I can only blame old brain. #TheOmen

Watching THE OMEN for the first time in 30+ years. I have to wonder how many Rottweilers suddenly appeared in animal shelters because they gave their owner glancing side-eye. I mean the dude is just standing there and the music says LOOK HE'S A HELLHOUND! #NowWatching #Hooptober #31DaysofHorror

Anyway. Here’s a few shots from Muna’s show in Pittsburgh.

I went shopping instead of writing this afternoon. Whoops.

So far — in the latest “Name Your Favorite Bad Movie” thread — I’ve seen Big Trouble in Little China and Scott Pilgrim. This isn’t even a subjective argument. Stand to the side if these are “bad” in your world. You can join again when you have something to contribute.

Hey so I never watched Jordan Peele’s US (2019), so I’m gonna do that because @cinemashame.bsky.social and #Hooptober.

#LastFourWatched. I kicked off #Hooptober season early because I'm an adult and I can do whatever I want. #LetterboxdFriday

Cherry Falls (3 stars), Burn Witch Burn (4 stars), Bloodsucking Pharoahs of Pittsburgh (a generous 3 stars), The Monster Club (2 1/2 stars)

#NoWatching THE MONSTER CLUB (1981) and I think I’ve developed a strong aversion to mediocre horror anthologies.

And now for The #Bond_age_ Guy cooks Italian and also inevitably burns himself with frying oil. Shout out to Stanley Tucci’s marinara recipe.

Here’s a sample of the @cinemashame.bsky.social conversation with @pre-code.com in pictorial form. Listen to find out how I still somehow manage to include a POLICE ACADEMY 3: BACK IN TRAINING clip.

David Fear is including ‘The Man Who Fell to Earth’ as his “fun” (but safe) pick here at #5. I wish I could be more controversial — but I’d pick the other 4 among the Top 5. I wouldn’t include ‘Taxi Driver’ if we were talking about favorites, though. There’s a difference, yo. Thoughts?

On to BRAVE ARCHER 2 (1978). And so far this one seems incredibly focused in comparison.

100

Darkest Timeline JDP @jamesdavidpatrick.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

Also, someone explain why this movie is called BRAVE ARCHER. Is it some kind of translation thing? THERE ARE NO ARCHERS.

Darkest Timeline JDP @jamesdavidpatrick.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

#NowWatching Chang Cheh’s BRAVE ARCHER (1977) because this set’s been sitting on my shelf for many moons, my daughters went back to school (one a freshman, the other for her senior year 🫠), and kung fu felt like the right mood for my parental anxiety. It’s not even required for a podcast recording

Someone might need to stage an intervention because I want to go get the Mortal Kombat 4K set from Barnes & Noble because the wife isn’t home and I can turn that shit up. The problem is that I will then have knowingly purchased Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.
