Got fancy with the sour dough, today.

Jennifer @jam7x.bsky.social · 04/08/2025

Today’s bake was really lovely. Thank goodness I have a list of people waiting for bread so I cannot be tempted. Carbs and upcoming trips to Maui do not mix.

The Swedish art of death cleaning. I do this every 6 months. I do not want my poor daughters to have to wade through my life’s detritus.

Hard work but worth it. It feels good to let go of stuff. Fresh clean slates are filled with promise.

No way!!!! That’s a bummer. We got a ton up here at the top of Campbell area, Cobblestone, Sin Vacas, La Paloma, Pima Canyon and The Canyons and Finger Rock. All the neighbors are sharing their rain gauge measurements. Amazing.

Evenings after a rain are simply glorious.

Pardon my ignorance. I thought this was illegal?

Umm. Yes, please. Need to try out focaccia next week!

Baked sour dough and made two chicken pot pies for the HRE’s (Highly Respected Elders otherwise known as my parents and the in laws). When it’s hot outside- pretend it’s a crisp fall day is the way my brain works.

The Sunday sour dough baking went well. 🥰

The Summer Solstice is here.

Jennifer @jam7x.bsky.social · 16/06/2025

That’s like our entire annual total rain falling in one day! Insane.

I am, clearly, a very basic and non adventurous chef! I’ve only ever added vanilla and sugar. 😂

I have one of these. Fresh whipped cream on demand. Plus, it’s fun to use the nitrogen cartridges.

The chicks are having a tough time on the stairs. 😂 I made sure mama and papa quail didn’t leave them.

Le Creuset might not be worth the price tag when it comes to roasting a chicken or pork loin. But, it makes up for all kinds of sins when it comes to baking sourdough. *Bonus baking tip- steal your mother’s dish to bake two loaves at a time.

Jennifer @jam7x.bsky.social · 08/06/2025

The sour dough bake is done. Tried a whole wheat loaf with mixed results. We shall see how it tastes. One white. One wheat. Yes, I remembered to purchase strawberry jam.

We can’t even make a definitive decision on who will run the state party.

The orchids know… If you bloom, you get to come inside for the summer and live in air conditioning.

I’m not sure she should leave him..but, after reading the article, I think he can put forth more effort in plating. The fact that he won’t make that tiny effort makes me think Jim is passive aggressive af and a bit of a baby.

I thought the Dems (under Pelosi) impeached Trump twice? I lose track. Maybe 4-5 attempts but twice successful? 🤷🏼‍♀️

If this isn’t the loveliest June 2nd on record, then I don’t even know what.

Jennifer @jam7x.bsky.social · 01/06/2025

My second attempt in larger Creuset came out too brown on top even with less time. But, gorgeous. They are now gone. I had 6 U of A swimmers boys for a visit so the loaves are no more along with a stick of butter and jar of strawberry jam. They are huge and fit and eat a lot!

Inside was magic. Lots of little bubbles but no big voids. Consistent. And the crust! Oh my. Nice crisp but not thick and nor chewy. Perfection. I suspected it would be good from the blistering on the sides- but as it’s my first- one never knows. This is fun. I see how people get obsessed.

Jeez. I’ve always put them in the oven. Many many times. My oven was at 450°. Must add another thing to my Williams Sonoma cart! Can’t believe mine are still okay.

010

Jennifer @jam7x.bsky.social · 31/05/2025

My very first loaf of sourdough. I think I need to use a bigger Le Creuset so I can reach internal 206° without browning top and sides so much??? Also, I need proper scoring implement. All tips welcome.

A bill that could cost his constituents thousands of dollars while adding trillions to the deficit. Sleepy Schwiekert wanted to vote for Trump’s bill…but, alas, the old man fell asleep. Dude refuses to meet with constituents, too. I guess it’s because he’s napping. ktar.com/arizona-news...

WTF, @tucson.com A lot of people can articulate the argument that college isn’t always a great idea. Yet, you chose Adam Guillette? He’s a disgusting person that endangered the lives of college students. Also, he went to college. 🙄 Seriously. Do not give thugs a job platform. You know better!

I don’t think so. The objection to axon was over the apartments- not the headquarters. Banner just wants a medical facility. And, the counsel can vote no. The law is about referendums *after* a yes vote, I believe. 🤷🏼‍♀️

100

Jennifer @jam7x.bsky.social · 21/04/2025

The Banner deal is unrelated to Axon. The future hospital would require a re-zoning and hasn’t even been submitted.

120

Jennifer @jam7x.bsky.social · 20/04/2025

Agreed. Branscomb might be “right” but was it “smart”. I question what is to be gained by the airing of dirty laundry. Openly criticising the two biggest Dem fundraisers in the state seems like a weird thing for the state party chair to do. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Lemon meringue pie for another dinner party, tonight? Yes, please!

030

Jennifer @jam7x.bsky.social · 18/04/2025

Nothing says “Spring Dinner Party” quite like hauling out the Mackenzie Childs pottery to set the table. Grilled salmon, green chile & cheese grits, salad, fresh sour dough bread and chocolate soufflés and home made ice cream with fresh berries for dessert.

That is hysterical. We collect old floral vases so she takes bouquets to everyone around town. No need to return the vase. Never thought of selling them. 🤔 😂😂😂😂😂
