We previously proposed that MS ion channels in pollen grains serve as a “osmotic safety valves”, releasing ions to reduce turgor--but it looks like anion efflux through MSL8 regulates cell wall composition and growth dynamics! #PlantScience 🧪 Kudos to Josh Coomey for wrapping this up on his own!
