JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 30/07/2025Got really high and watched The Intern with Aiden after a rough day. This is the funniest psychodrama I have ever witnessed. 110

JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 27/06/2025Keep getting ads during my study material and like, do they work anymore? "You're situation is inferior and you are inadequate unless you consume my product" is the undelying attitude of so many of them. The rest are just painfully annoying music loops and unfunny, paper thin skits. Ughhhhhhh 100
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 27/06/2025Got excited about finishing the game and had to put the energy somewhere so I took a crack at a promo image 💕 010
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 27/06/2025Finished my game at long last. It's gonna feel so weird to finally move on. Plus I'm getting that mixed feeling of excitement and anxiety for feedback once I put it out. 010
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 25/06/2025Studying for my ABO exam and coming up with pnumonic devices! Not the first thing that came to mind but it helps me remember the names better and I don't wanna accidentally say "Every Body Sucks Dick Eventually" out loud during an exam 😂 000
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 25/06/2025I've now finished playtesting the main story of my first game! From the looks of the playtime (knowing where everything is) I'd say I definitely went too big for my first game 😂 Small handful of short post-story activities, fixing any small issues my partner finds, and one last art commission left! 010

JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 24/06/2025Took my initial practice test for my license exam. I primarily work retail and learned very trial by fire, so I'm taking a 64% as a decent start. Took notes on all the things I missed so I have a better idea of the material to study this week. 000
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 22/06/2025First day of my first vacation in FOREVER! Today is gonna be relaxing and dev work all day! 🍕 🎮 🖥️ 📝 Starting tomorrow, I cram for my optician licensing exam 💪🤓 010

JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 16/06/2025I FIGURED OUT WHY THE DATA FIGHTS WERE SO HARD FOR ME! 1.) Forgot dodge roll has a few i-frames 2.) I had all the flowmotion attacks equipped. They slowed me down to the point I couldn't hit the bosses before they could react. Just beat Ansem. I'm back babyyyy 🤙💕 000
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 16/06/2025My partner has House MD brainrot. I've not once regretted proposing to this nerd 😂💕 000
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 12/06/2025Continuing Aiden's playtesting today to clean up any small issues left behind in levels 2 and 3. The more of this is done now, the less of my vacation will be spent on finishing this game! 000

JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 12/06/2025Are ads in general really anything more than the coupon trash paper clogging our mailboxes that apartment complexes have dedicated trashcans for? Like can we just not waste precious resources and art on shit literally nobody enjoys littering every surface and invading every media/social space? 000
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 12/06/2025Heat exhaustion has me beat. JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 11/06/2025It's a consistent 84 degrees and 45% humidity in the store I work at and has been that way for days. I can't handle consistent heat like this. I feel half asleep, feverish, and run out of sweat faster than I can drink water 😭🔥 000

JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 11/06/2025On my playtesting run I'm on level 5 and it's going much quicker than expected! Just level 5, 6, and some cutscenes to go! 000
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 09/06/2025The AC is broken at work and there's high humidity bc it WON'T STOP RAINING. It's 80F inside and I hate it 🔥 😢 🔥 000

JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 27/05/2025To keep myself practicing, I've decided to use my streams to make MUCH SMALLER games with chat. All for fun and experimentation, no pressure for quality. Most recently we made the two dads of the family and one of the kids on my end and @davidtlb.bsky.social started work on decorative assets! 010
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 27/05/2025Incidentally, been a while since I posted dev stuff! On the RPG front, finished playtesting up to level 4. Level 3 was probably the HEAVIEST workload so I'm past the worst of it. It was a combo of me at the time JUST learning stuff and the ideas being overambitious. All smoothed out! 100
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 27/05/2025Going through kh3 again on proud mode in my off time. Grinding to prep for when I can afford the dlc data battles! Just beat Inferno and am going through the Orichalcum+ checklist to get the Ultima Weapon. Hero's Origin remains broken and goated, but I hate accidentally using the lame finisher 😭 000
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 26/05/2025Ads drive me absolutely insane, they're INESCAPABLE online and off. Everytime I have to hear "Paws...for the facts!" I wanna put my head through a wall 😭 I wish we could as a society find some way to critically limit or eliminate advertising. Make YT vids or something I don't care, man. 000

JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 19/04/2025Made a few new skills to give David's character more to do in combat. Was in a good flow and had some fun with the scripting 🤘 Level 3 finally dies this weekend. It'll be the test drive for the new skills. 020

JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 01/04/2025Also I got a bunch of game fixes in today after work and was reintroduced to this visual 000
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 01/04/2025A cool mom came in to get her glasses and she, her husband, their adorable daughter and my coworker and I shot the shit about nostalgia games, horror media, games we at the store and the daughter both played, etc. It was a great time. I'm allowing myself to enjoy the moment. 100

JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 30/03/2025On the playtesting front I've finished the intro, first area, second area, and tuned up the following cutscene. Stat and ability cost adjustments have been a big quality of life improvement! 000
JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 30/03/2025Mental health had a sudden drastic improvement. Social anxiety is way down, motivation has been better, work is going well. It was really sudden and out of nowhere. Don't know if it'll last, but I'm gonna enjoy it while it's here. 020

JAL @jaldev.bsky.social · 14/03/2025I'm so tired of getting sick, man. Had to bike to work with a virus, havking and coughing, and on top of that the air here was so damn polluted this morning. 010
