The popular subreddit r/xBiking — an alternative biking community — appears to have been taken over by malicious actors. Hopefully Reddit can resolve this but many users would agree that platform has shifted for the worse over the last years. 🚲 www.reddit.com/r/ModSupport... #xBiking #BikeSky

I think you can do it but it’s messy and error prone if you’re not using the same config settings. Is it not easier to refactor common code into a third package and remove this hierarchy?

the cheesing was my issue. If you positioned yourself just right on a bit of scenery the enemies would get confused and you can just shoot everyone from safety. I’m not sure what it’s like now, but on launch more often than not this would happen behind pretty much any cover and it just wasn’t fun :(

fr man, these kinda memes vex me. I’m forever seeing people asking “what’s wrong with me” because of these kinds of expectations. In my experience, medication gives me the tools I need to cope with ADHD, but it doesn’t make it go away. It’s still on me to use those tools effectively.

I'm not sure if it's really a trick, but I really like using the request chaining for full suites of tests. Particularly when auth is required before I can test an endpoint. Chaining requests outside of the hurl file is great too with shell commands, particularly jq. hurl.dev/docs/tutoria...

I’m a big fan of hurl, I use it on pretty much every personal project. Still trying to convince the company i’m working with to adopt it

I tried something like this with deno a year or two ago, but the technology wasn't there. (or, more likely, I was too stupid to use it) This looks really cool!

You got me curious, so I went off to find the appropriate docs for this. This is what I would think anyone actually implementing the protocol would refer to, rather than bluesky's docs on verifying your own handle. Next stop is to find bluesky's actual implementation 😀 atproto.com/specs/handle...
atproto.com
Handle - AT Protocol

I get where you’re coming from, but i’m not sure these are the docs one should be using for that purpose, nor do they claim to be.

jakenvac @jakenvac.dev · 25/11/2024
Ah got you, yes i’m just creating noise in that case 😂 That’s interesting… now that I understand lol. This behaviour feels unique to ‘{}’.

I’m thinking maybe we’re not on the same page 😆 I understand how any works and I agree with your explanation there. But i’m confused by why you think {} allows almost nothing? The only things it doesn’t allow are null and undefined. shorturl.at/bV0hs

For example: function doSomething(p: object) { /* do stuff */ } const a: {} = "this is fine"; const b: any = "and so is this"; const c: unknown = "something"; doSomething(a); // shouldn't error as {} behaves like any doSomething(b); // doesn't error as expected doSomething(c); // errors
100
jakenvac @jakenvac.dev · 25/11/2024
But that’s my argument, I think ‘{}’ is more akin to ‘any’ than it is to ‘unknown’ and behaves as such when assigning and passing values, so it makes sense that it’s broad enough to allow a string.

jakenvac @jakenvac.dev · 25/11/2024
But to answer your question directly, It'll be BlueSky or another atproto application that implements handle resolution. It's not really a concern of someone just wanting custom handles.
100
jakenvac @jakenvac.dev · 25/11/2024
I don't think that code snippet is there to be implemented by anyone - it's more to say "this is how we (bluesky) read it". I think it's just there for extra context for someone who wants their did verification done via the `./well-known/atproto-did`.

I'm interested to know how this stacks up to RealThunders custom builds. They've been my daily driver for a while now. Much better at topo naming in my experience.
000
jakenvac @jakenvac.dev · 25/11/2024
I don't think this page is suggesting anything should be copy and pasted. I think the code snippet is just there as an example of how the `did` is resolved via http. Maybe it's me who's missing it - what do you think could be exploited?

But why should `{}` not be assignable to `object`? Although the syntax is misleading `{}` is essentially the same as `any` with the exclusion of nullish values. When something is of type `any` it becomes assignable to any other type - same goes. for `{}`
