Dr malcolm kendrick has said very similar things. Ivor Cummins is not medical. But he is quite a smart guy who seems to have read an analysed a lot of the literature on statins. I'm not saying he is right but it's good to know both sides of the argument.

I suspect you may be right that they are overwhelmed. Doesn't fill you with confidence in our system though does it? Especially when we know the yellow cards actually sent are the tip of the iceberg and less that 5% (?) Of potential reactions.

There are 6322 Neighbourhood Health Centres in England GP Practices have lost 20% real terms funding since 2016, if they hadn’t they would be better able to provide the care patients need, but still 31m appts/month Fund GP practices properly & they’ll do the rest @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social
