Careers guidance is key to helping young people make informed decisions about their future. Worryingly, we found wide gaps in access to careers support by school type. Private school pupils are significantly more likely to have accessed it than state school pupils

Of those who sought help, 35% said they were either on a waiting list or had otherwise yet to receive it. And the proportion waiting in less well-off parts of the country are higher: 39% compared to 28% of those in the most affluent areas. This is embedding inequalities.

About 8% have "very favourable" views of private schools according to YouGov; about 7% of young people attend a private school (www.llakes.ac.uk/wp-content/u...). Obviously, it won't be a perfect overlap, but that is pretty consistent.
