iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I've started a series that I've been assured is quite good, with a season that many think is not very good.

It's not a coincidence that South America's rightwards shift has coincided with the growth of Protestantism in that continent. One reason why I am skeptical of religion's ability to fit in with pluralistic, secular society is that the sects that try to adapt to that lose out to those that reject it.

I wish someone made a car that had basically the same size & shape of the 2nd gen Prius, but with a fully electric drivetrain. Closest example I can think of is the original Hyundai Ioniq EV, or the new Ioniq V... but the latter is only available in China and looks too edgy.

Old French cars are cool. Even the less famous ones. I'd love to have something like a Citroen Visa.

I do find myself coming back to Illit's "It's Me" from time to time. Especially the performance video, which I prefer to the MV. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOpd...

Saw the Kia EV3 in a dealer today. Didn't get to drive one because they were very busy, but it seemed nice.

More car rants: it feels like light silver paint schemes are being pushed out by darker silver or (even worse) flat grey ones these days, especially on entry level trims. This is bad. A nice silver has all the benefits of white while being more visually interesting.

It’s wild how bad car dealerships are. People wonder why Teslas are so popular, the fact that you don’t have to deal with vultures trying to set you up with some financing scheme within 30 seconds of stepping foot in a showroom is a big part of it.

Someone made this event 10 years ago and it’s fast approaching and while I said I was going as a joke way back when, I think this is very important and I will be there with any priestly amulets that are needed to make this come true

I’m glad that KiiiKiii’s “Candy Pink Magic Hole Flip Phone” got a performance video! Especially one that fits the 2000s vibe of the WhyKiiiKiii EP so well. youtu.be/wdE__gfiqn8?is=VA9m7PxnIHd…

Well, they did it. Though they stuck with the film camera aesthetic typical for the Instax line instead of going for a more digicam look, otherwise this is basically exactly what I wanted. www.theverge.com/tech/995399/...

Fujifilm’s Instax Pal 2 is a tiny digital camera that may not disappoint

The $170 Pal 2 includes an LCD screen, a 10-megapixel sensor, autofocus, and face detection.

I love these kinds of high-efficiency aero designs. Covered wheels, slooping roof, etc. I wish there was a modern mass-market EV with the body shape of first gen Honda Insight.

Looking at the rather elegant iPhone Duo folio case makes me want a folding phone with this form factor and a minimal front screen, a la some of the older Z Flip models. Nobody would buy it, there is a reason why Samsung put bigger screens on the later Z Flips, but I think it'd be quite elegant.

If I was Andy Burnham I'd honestly just say that "we will nuke Buenos Aires if Argentina attacks the Falklands." Is it stupid? Yeah. But Milei is saying stupid shit, because he's emboldened by Trump, who says stupid shit. Just invite him to get nuked and he'll go back to ranting about Brasil.

[reposting a thread from the other site] Honestly I think one of the major flaws with revolutionary socialism in general is that there is no satisfying answer to the question "how do we actually do the revolution?"

New HYBE girl group time - TUIDE, pronounced a bit like "tweed". I like this debut! Not my favourite debut song, but it's pretty good (it helps that I am a sucker for easy listening). Shooting the MV for a song titled "Sun Kiss" in overcast Iceland is pretty funny. www.youtube.com/watch?v=46h0...
