OOOF. I am so very behind on everything, as our own game launched on September 23rd. Game launches are INTENSE. Work is also looking to add two or three new people to help with support, collaborating with an external partner. In the meantime, it's reassigned to "community". That's me.

Our vets have been so kind following Scratch's passing, but I've also found some bizarre comfort in their admin. For their records, pets have a last name, and it's the family name. But honestly, having her down officially as "Scratch Perkins" feels right. Yep, she was.

My best friend has passed away. She was my world, and I'm heartbroken. I thought I would see her on Thursday, I was counting the days. She went to the vet's for a cold. She had a heart attack. An x-ray showed a tumour. Though she be but little, she is fierce. ❤️ I love you, Scratch.

My cat had to go to the vets today for blood tests and some jabs. One of the vets came in to take her blood pressure, and complimented her on how she was such a good and lovely cat. Scratch then went immediately feral for the rest of the trip, and they sent her home early.

Recently, a section of the Star Trek fandom kicked off "this show is woke" as it featured a Klingon "wearing a skirt". Even ignoring the obvious, 1) there are several episodes of Klingons in long formal wear, 2) TNG formal wear, and 3) Scotland. Most importantly, 4) IT'S NOT EVEN IN THE EPISODE.

Our vet posted a clip show video of all the wonderful pets/patients that they've seen, cared for and loved throughout 2025. You may be shocked to learn that my demon child was not included. I'm just glad that they haven't blacklisted her, to be honest.

My tiny friend is fine! She came home last night, much to the relief of the vets who carefully chose the word "feisty" to describe her. They're also not as concerned as they were Friday, as they believe she had a rare reaction to the meds, but they're still keeping an eye on it.

GUESS WHO IS AT THE VET FOR AN OVERNIGHT STAY. She's fine, but she went in for blood tests (for thyroid) this morning and then they realised that she's still recovering from her recent illness and kept her in to help speed it along.

Last weekend, we had to go to the emergency vet because Scratch was just pooping blood. Just blood. Apparently cats can just do that. It's chill. This weekend started with Scratch refusing to eat anything. Now she's content, full belly and napping like she hasn't made me age ten years in one week.

Today I rescued a tiny angry dog from a motorway relief road. He had broken through the garden gate and just started wandering towards the cars with his little legs. Was he relieved? Heck no, I ruined his plans of freedom and sniffing. He complained constantly. I loved him.

I have been incredibly behind on all things lately, including replies. I'm sorry! ❤️ The blood test flagged up that I'm enjoying some anaemic times, and combined with chronic migraines, has meant that I am very sleepy. There are no thoughts entering this brain.

CAT UPDATE: Scratch has hyperthyroidism, so we're trying her out with Thyronorm, and she's got some more blood tests in a couple of weeks. She's been doing okay on them so far, although she won't like the frequent blood tests everything three months. Hopefully it will become routine. (1/4)

Experiencing a pretty tough week which brought just a wave of the nightmares and anxiety. I'm currently waiting to hear back about Scratch's rerun of blood results, as the first had some alarming results. Someone's made me the vice president of panic, and the president is missing.

Scratch's THIRD attempt at getting her blood is today, and as always, I am a bundle of nerves. She is currently sleeping off 4x the previously issued sedatives. If we have to go to a fourth, they're going to have to start prescribing me deliciously flavoured sedatives too.

Today was Scratch's follow up vet appointment. She bit the nurse, and had to be placed back in her carrier with four times the amount of sedative, and some for her 3rd (and a possible 4th visit). Also, the taxi company called to say that they can't take her anymore. Tuesdays.

Scratch had to go to the vet for her annual check-up. They also tried to take her blood. They did not get her blood. She was put back in her carrier with a second appointment and roast chicken flavoured sedatives. Roast chicken. What a time to be alive.
