Yeah "don't do the thing you don't want to do" is pretty simple. I suspect this guy still wants to hang out, which I think is relatable, and if that's the case, he could have said "I still wanted to hangout so I let the computer do the thing for me" instead of acting like a pompous dick about it.

My parents were skeptical of video games so I didn't get a system until I was 12. That system was the GameBoy and this was the game that completely sucked me in.

XBOX will go down as the textbook of how not to buy your way into a market. Microsoft acquired something like 40 studios and still ended up as an also-ran in the gaming industry. They almost had it with the 360, then totally blew it with the One, and then totally blew it again with the S and X.

The in-game cutscenes hold up particularly well. Each one was directed with a moving camera, which was possible because everything is rendered in-game instead of using pre-rendered backgrounds. While it's not a good looking game by today's standards, it's a really good looking PSX game.

I've been replaying Xenogears. It's sprite/polygon mixture graphically has always felt like a sweet spot for the original PlayStation. The Final Fantasy games for that console felt like they were trying to do too much with polygons and everything felt static and wooden as a result.

Every time some politician wants to cut some program, they're saying it should be more like college admissions. Most people spend days stressing over applications and financing. The rich never really have to deal with this burden because they have the time and money, not to mention the connections.

Cutting programs, services, and safety nets to pay for tax cuts basically replaces a progressive dollar tax with a maximally regressive time tax. Time taxes don't affect rich people because A) they don't all work and thus have more time and B) they can throw money at it.
