S30E11, "Mad About the Toy", is a prototypical sleepy episode. Even season 20 of the show would've wrapped up its plot by the first act break. That being said, it does contain what I found to be the most startling and laugh-out-loud visual gag I've seen from the show in awhile:

Yeah, it seems like people who say "Simpsons predicted it" think history started 10 years ago. It was written in a historical context from which, damningly, a lot of our current problems were forseeable even by TV comedy writers That being said the simpsons did predict 9/11, that's indisputable:

(2/4) But even in the trashiest trash eras there's a lot to enjoy and even some quite good episodes. I also think that (with some MAJOR exceptions) there's better quality control after season 20 and no episode is ever worse than "forgettable." Then again I might just have the Stockholm syndrome:

FAQ #2: Isn't the show really really bad after Season (11-15)? (1/4) This is a complicated question. First - yes, it has never returned to the highs of the "Golden Age" and never will again. Almost nothing does. Also, some individual episodes are garbage (and you know how I feel about garbage).
