An important note on the awful, awful, awful Paramount-WB merger settlement: Latham & Watkins, O'Melveny, Covington & Burling, Fried Frank, Winston Taylor, and Wilkinson Stekloff: YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. Don't tell us about all the pro bono you do. You should be ashamed of yourselves!

This Paramount-Skydance merger deal is awful! Allowing this merger to go through with the weakest of weak sauce “deals" one could imagine is an incredibly devastating betrayal. One man will now control almost inconceivable amounts of news, film, TV, and other programming.

@agrobbonta.oag.ca.gov and @gavinnewsom.bsky.social you sold us out. I will actively oppose you until you are out of politics forever because you CANNOT be trusted to do the right thing. Awful!

One billionaire can censor or veto anything he wants and the market forces to stop him are gone! He is already a massive billionaire—he doesn't care! No settlement could ever be devised that would make it okay to control this much media. It is awful and we should be marching in the streets!

Me neither. The humidity! Unfortunately… “I’ve never experienced weather like this” is the new normal.

Devastating. Don’t look away.

ProPublica spoke to dozens of people who had lived in homeless encampments when cities cleared them out in “sweeps.” We distributed notecards so people could tell us about the toll in their own words. ➡️ This is what they wrote:

Did you know Google opted you into data mine your email for its AI leviathan? Me neither until today. Here is how to opt out.

If you have a Gmail account, you need to read this. Google's AI now scans your emails and attachments, bank statements, tax files, medical letters, all of it. It turned on by default, and there's a class-action lawsuit over how. Here are 5 moves to shut it off, the switch is hidden in two places:

Yang Chow, of course! I’ll never forget the rainy fall evening my wife and I drove past it on the way home, smelled good food and went in on a whim. WOW. The beef & broccoli, slippery shrimp… It’s not experimental, fusion, or avant-garde, it’s just really good!

Congress needs to pass a law enforcing the 14th Amendment. “No person shall…hold any office…who, having previously taken an oath…to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”
Mark Hamill@markhamillofficial.bsky.social
Inciting a coup against your own country is the very definition of TREASON, full stop. There should be a law that prevents traitors from running for office.

I just get tired of the “keyboard warriors” who, with every piece of news, use that to attack the Dems and to blame them for whatever the Republicans are doing. Overall I am a big fan of yours and I really agree with everything you’ve said about how cooked we are with this media environment etc.
