When the AI bubble pops, we can’t repeat past corporate bail outs. We need to be ready with policies that protect ordinary people and hold tech execs accountable. We also need to talk about nationalizing AI companies — or maybe even abolishing them altogether… @astra.bsky.social @theguardian.com

At least they left most of their nonsense in. The only edits I noticed were my mentions of Israel's genocide. Gone, no surprise there. I have other stories about the panicky way BBC treated this book, involving booked and cancelled interviews and a recorded one that has not aired (hello Newsnight).

Whether it was the insistence that Thiel is just trolling, or the incredulity that Trump would actually interfere in elections, or the apparent ignorance that fascism is a *right-wing* project, this interview was a trip. As comedy, it's gold. www.bbc.com/audio/play/m...

For clatirty; I am NOT saying that there are Black People in MI with anti-immigrant views. I am not saying that in the least. Not even a little bit.

That Mike Rogers ad is bullshit. We know exactly who and what Mike Rogers is. But Black People in south east MI are justifiably cautious about El-Sayed. But he's the candidate so we voting for him. Folks not in MI need to remember he is NOT Mamdani, this ain't New York

Black People here remember them trying to ban Black People from public, government funded parks because they didn't want Black People in ***THEIR*** park.

Immigrants do arrive with anti-Black and anti-woman sentiments in place. Then try to assimilate by further hating what white what people hate. Look up how many of them in MI voted for trump in 2016. Black people here remember them trying to run Black People out of **THEIR** neighborhoods.

It's not anti-immigrant. South east MI has basically always had Middle Eastern Americans. The population swelled even more in the mid and late 70s. This ain't new for us.

Southeast MI has the largest Arab American/middle eastern concentration in the country. We have a large Black population too. And in not insignificant numbers, Arab Americans don't like Black People or Women.

3. Arab Americans in southeast MI (NOT ALL) do not like Black Americans. Black People know and remember this and are justifiably cautious. Again, he is not Mamdani and this ain't NY. All that said, hopefully he'll get enough votes to win and prove the skeptics wrong

1. There are a lot of people in MI who aren't very informed about what is happening. Not because they don't care but because they are overwhelmed with trying to survive. 2. MI is not NYC. El-Sayed is not Mamdani. He is just getting a lot of mileage and good will from Mamdani

If you are caring for seriously ill children or elderly loved ones you may want to find out where their critical medications are made. I say this from personal experience. 😕

This matters! Your generic prescription drugs are not always safe or effective. This has been true long before trump. It is even more critical to know now.

Someone with cerebral palsy will have much higher expenses than your average person. I hate that he tried to do the right thing and protect his earnings only to have someone take advantage of him. RIP RJ. Thank you for everything you did to promote disability visibility.

RJ Mitte was a fierce advocate for disability justice. He had cerebral palsy and his disability was a central part of his character on Breaking Bad. Despite the shows success, Mitte lost most of his earnings due to an unscrupulous business manager. The “crip tax” is real.
