Starting the day with an email from a client angry that he "gave me a few days to respond" after returning to the office and hadn't heard anything. I had a very clear out-of-office email responder, returned to the office *yesterday*, and had meetings half the day. Don't be this guy.

Got some bones from Etsy to use for making jewelry. Ethically sourced. Chicken bones. To me, they have zero smell. To the dogs, well, they have what I call the "Chicken Crazies" like my cats did when my ex brought Popeyes home. This could be a problem. Also Emmett tried to eat a bead I let him sniff

I spent most of my working life working for someone else, and it's much much better working only for my clients and not also a boss. I have a rather good job. That said, if I could open a nicely profitable oddities, curiosities, and other spooky goods shop, I'd do that instead in a heartbeat. 😁👻

As much as I'm bitching about my job, I do love having my own practice, and most of my clients are wonderful. It's when I let the other clients, admin burden, and entitled rude enquiries make me lose sight of that it's high time for a burnout break so I can return fresh to do good work.

Day 3 of my staycation. My mother says "normal pleasant Julie" has returned already. Then I told her how my phone, against instructions, notified me of an email from a particular client, and my first thought was " never contact me again." So I definitely need at least the rest of the week off.

Two of my friends I met in high school, who just married each other last year, have opened a very cool bookshop in my town. It has a light cafe, art exhibits, poetry readings, and live music on occasion. I just picked up these two beauties there this week. How could I not?

Got almost no sleep last night due to anxious dog. Coffee was delicious (Cathouse Coffee Punkn!) but couldn't overcome the tired. Fibromyalgia kicking in. Vacation doesn't start until Saturday and must do many many work things before then. I used to love a good thunderstorm. Pre-dogs.

It's Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet week! We only adopt cats that are "less adoptable" due to FIV and I've known countless amazing cats at the shelter that were overlooked for too long due to age, medical issues, or behavioral challenges. Please consider the "less adoptables" if you can!
