~ trounces me.” But it gives Ted joy, so Jack doesn’t mind being out a few dollars. What Ted does with those dollars, he has no clue. He can’t exactly pop into a shop like this.

He hopes they are not irreconcilable things. He hopes . . . she can /see/. But he’s also scared what she will think of him when she does. “Things?” he asks with a chuckle, breaking off a piece of his blueberry muffin. “Things are good. Played cards with my friend Ted last night. He always ~

He doesn’t mind disagreements. So long as they hear each other out. But maybe he’s being too obvious that he really enjoys her company. Or at least . . . he remembers enjoying the company of other her and wants to know if he can enjoy the company of this her. “Thank you. Looks good.”

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

At least talking about it is the painful part. “I think so, too. I don’t write anyone off for what they are. Natural enemies and blood feuds aside,” he adds with wry smile. “I hope others would do the same for me.”

Maybe relationships for them can’t help but be complicated.

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

He knows. And it’s alright. She /needs/ to know. He’s just not looking forward to /this/ Elsa hating him.

000

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

It’s complicated. He knew her once. Well, another /version/ of her. They were close. And that Elsa knew what he was.

He sighs. Well. The “not a date” was fun while it lasted.

Daniel is totally gonna blab about the whole werewolf thing isn’t he?

010

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

He could say that they should split, but that would defeat the point. “I can get the next one then.” He would like there to be a next one.

010

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

“It can be painful,” he replies. “But it is less frightening after the first few times.” He might not enjoy his existence, but he doesn’t like to complain. “Do you think vampirism is a curse?”

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

“I could go for a blueberry muffin,” he comments. “And the coffee.” But he usually adds a little milk to his. “I can go to the counter and order for us. My treat.”

010

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

He gives an understanding smile. “I’m not one of the ones who chose this,” Jack begins. “A wolf. Werewolf. Most would call it a curse.”

100

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

Maybe. Depends mostly upon the pigeon.

010

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

“I’m not a vampire. Obviously. But I’m sure you could guess.” A werewolf’s ability to recognize a vampire is equal to a vampire’s ability to recognize a werewolf. The whole “mortal enemies” trope is a trope for a reason. Even if it is stupid.

He’s not encouraging trying to befriend all bullies. Björn needs to be safe. But sometimes, bullies could be friends.

010

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

Definitely one of the ones. Hence Jack being here. “I’m trying to make sure our kind doesn’t get hurt.” Not that he’s the same kind as Daniel. Just . . . all the non-humans.

100

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

Jack scratches the back of his neck. His own. Not Björn’s. “Friends are better.”

010

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

Oh . . . well. Hmm. Does he need someone to talk to the pigeon instead.

000

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

“I think I’m too good at being careful,” he answers honestly. “But someone has to be.” Pretty much . . . every supernatural being he has met needs babysitting.

He smirks. “Just be careful. Sometimes humans . . . well, they don’t know what it feels like to be afraid.” Maybe that sounds odd. These hunters are protecting other humans from “scary monsters.” But they don’t always know what it is to be hated for existing. Only some understand that.

Jack Russell | Parody @ivegotsystems.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

He holds out a finger. To “shake.” “I’m Jack.”
