Here's my collage after it's been glazed. There was a lot of bleed through, but there's something I really like about that in terms of the ephemeral nature of art and life. Things change and things fade and new things emerge

Restorative justice isn't just a loop hole to punishment. It recognizes that the person(s) who was harmed is not served well within our current justice system just as those who committed the harm aren't. If we aren't centering the survivor, it's not restorative justice: it's sparkling rape apologia

As is centering the person who was harmed and repairing the harm (as defined by the harmed party). It is often an ongoing process that is meant to balance high support and high accountability. While we're supposed to separate the deed from the doer, that doesn't mean no consequences for actions.

There's a lot of people throwing around the term restorative justice who seem to think it means no consequences and people just say sorry and done. I'm getting a master’s degree in it, and that's not what it is at all. Accountability is key.

I've been making collages as a low pressure creative outlet for myself. The Stranger had this lovely painting of Dolly on the cover recently, so I had to make something in her honor.
