I mean sure Matt Freeman is a top tier bassist and probably has more raw skill than someone like Lemmy. But Lemmy was as much about the presence and the longevity as the skill. I'd probably have to do a separate punk bass list.

The Yang is older. He talks and acts like Data from Star Trek TNG. No contractions, precise and formal cadence. He calls me Mr. Mylastname when I walk in because he recognizes people.

The Yin is the younger one, whose two least favorite things in the world are conversation and eye contact. So, naturally the guy you want up front dealing with customers. He will complete the transaction with as little interaction as possible.

I love my local pizza place so much. There's two different guys behind the counter and part of the joy of going there (aside from the pretty good pizza) is seeing which of the two I get when I pick up my order. In my head I call them the Yin and the Yang. They are both neurodivergent (complementary)

Last night I got to see one of my all time favorite bands for I think the 10th time? Bane was a huge part of my formative time and continued to grow and evolve with me as I aged. They retired 10 years ago and I was broken up about it but they come back for shows here and there and I love it

As a player, it's when another player comes up with something I would have NEVER thought of - a plan, a deduction, and interpretation, etc. As a DM - it's when players debate things like "can we trust this NPC" based on clues you've left in both directions

One thing that might be of interest - I like to use digital character sheets, even for in-person games. It does like 90% of the math for you and also makes the character creation process way smoother. Allows you to focus on actually making a character rather than juggling a bunch of stats & options

The second one was a last minute add, my friend wanted a companion to play in a game of Masks A New Generation, a teenage superhero RPG in the PBTA system. It was excellent but I think a lot of that had to do with the A++ GM and the fantastic table we had. We just vibed together and it was so fun

This was also a big con for me this year, doing more events than I usually do. This included two RPG events. I finally got to try out Pirate Borg, which I liked but was initially nervous about bc I was by myself with anybody I knew and the rest of the players were 6 guys in a group.

We ended up closing down the place, we were the very last people to leave right at closing time in the wee hours of the morning. We packed up and a couple of us wandered around the convention center after, watching the 3am games of Werewolf and Blood on the Clocktower happening randomly in the halls

So instead of the hotel we ended up gaming on the last night in the stadium, which is one of my favorite things about recent Gen Cons since they've taken over the stadium. It's so fun and because it's so big it's almost eerily quiet even when there's a lot of people

We thought the storm didn't really affect us...until we got back to our hotel. Which had flooded. Water everywhere on the main 2 floors, down to one elevator on one side of the building, and reports of water in halls and guest rooms. Turns out our stuff was fine, so...phew

The roof of the convention center and stadium both leaked though and it was raining inside the buildings for a bit. Search for the videos they are nuts

We were safe in the main hall, all interior space. But the alarm kept going off like every 60 seconds or so. For maybe 20 minutes. Weather service has confirmed it was a real tornado about 10 min drive from the con. Saw these around the very next day, bless the crafters
