UPDATE: Donkey Kong Bananza's Emerald Rush events ARE returning! Starting tomorrow, you'll have plenty more chances to unlock the special in-game character statues, with each event running for an entire month at a time. It begins in October with Chip Fever and the Enguarde and Kong Bananza statues!

The sequence in the tunnels after the spirit tells you freeing rotty will start a crisis is honesty one of my favorite atmospheric bits of all time. While its no secret shantae WILL save her friend, you can picture her trying to come up with a way to mitigate the impending damage.

Game is a unique emotional experience, esp if you grew up with the original series- and half the plot is a true kojima capstone - its either peak writing, nanomachines (son), or a comically convoluted casserole of “Well so and so arranged for that to happen… but actually not… but actually yes!”
