My building management just sent us notice that gas shut-off valves need to be installed on all gas meters, necessitating that gas lines be inoperable all day. Of course, the day they decided this installation needed to happen is the DAY BEFORE Thanksgiving. <sigh>

I grew up poor and with grandparents whose Depression-era shopping values are ingrained (buy on sale, stock up, etc). I’ve been lauded by Kroger cashiers for my grocery savings skills. Thanksgiving is usually a great time for deep food discounts. Not this year. Even with coupons, it will be tough.

On our summer trip to NYC, we sat in the rain for two hours to see a preview performance of this (which was, rightly, ultimately cancelled due to safety concerns). Very happy we’ll be able to watch this!
