Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 14/01/2026Yeah it has to be that they’re trying to big up some light bruising right? Otherwise it’s such an absurd and obvious lie to fabricate from whole cloth that it doesn’t make sense to even try. 000 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 14/01/2026How could this possibly be true? We’ve seen video footage of the entire incident (before and after shots fired) from dozens of different angles, the guy wasn’t even bumped. Like this is so obviously a lie it’s hard to even comprehend the attempt?? Like a child caught with the hand in the cookie jar 000 0

Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 11/01/2026The only guiding principles are a fear of change and reverence for hierarchy. Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 11/01/2026Credit where it’s due I guess, reactionaries have realized the binary political spectrum is sort of nonsense and begun to just fully play jump rope with it. Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 09/01/2026If that is meant to be a sarcastic dig, then you’re moving goal posts. The question is not “does something get media coverage because it is witnessed” but rather “do witnesses get heard and videos seen if the crime doesn’t happen to a white person”. 100 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 09/01/2026But ICE has shot (and killed) many people, and it wasn’t a story like this. 000 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 09/01/2026Just for the commenter’s reference, Jade is objectively correct. Here is a list of ICE shootings since Trump took office last year. Some fatalities here, and often in very similar circumstances to Renee’s. We did not have a mass media coverage of any of these to this scale. It feels pretty clear.newsweek.com 000 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 09/01/2026Take the case of citizen Carlos Jimenez. He was shot in a traffic stop just like Renee. He was not the target of investigation, just trying to pass by. He fortunately survived the bullet that struck him in the shoulder, but his survival was down to a matter of inches. We have not heard his story. 131 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 09/01/2026Whether it is uncomfortable or not the truth of the matter is that if you break down the differences between these shootings and the shooting of Renee good, almost the only consistent difference is that these people where non-white as far as we know. I am sorry, it sucks but it is true. 131 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 09/01/2026My friend, here is an article going through ICE shootings since Trump took office last year (and trust me they happened before him). You’ll notice a number of these people died, and a majority of them took place in EXTREMELY similar circumstances to Renee. Traffic stop, mid day, shot in a car.newsweek.com 141 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 09/01/2026Yeah exactly! This is simply undeniable, and I think that’s the point being made. It’s simply true that the masses care more about the white woman. And they should care! But it’s also true that there were others who did not get this outpouring of grief and support. It’s just a fact. 010 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 09/01/2026I think it needs to be said that “mad since Trump” is not nearly to the origin of the problem. Not to you or anyone specifically (I’m sure you’re aware and just using that time marker to make the point) but ICE killed people under Biden and Obama too, just as they also caged kids under the Dems. 110 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 09/01/2026💯yeah for sure. It feels tasteless to say, because this IS a tragedy, but it’s so so sooooo far from the first person ICE has shot and killed in cold blood on US soil. I imagine some members of ICE are genuinely confused as to why it’s suddenly a big deal, when they’ve been doing it for years. 000 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 08/01/2026Anyway, all that to say I think we see the result of this lack of leadership here. The Dems have no single voice, and no undergirding ideology to keep all their separate voices on message. So instead it feels like Trump just keeps getting away with it with only sporadic, weak protests from the Dems. 000 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 08/01/2026Dems live or die by whoever ends up on the ballot, and outside of the election cycle they have nothing to offer. If they find a good candidate they win, if they don’t they loose. Republicans have been winning despite their candidates in many ways, because they have a focused political engine. 100 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 08/01/2026Republicans learned how to have a platform that they can drop any idiot on top of to be competitive. Trump was a godsend for them because they found a leader who was both charismatic and essentially on platform, but honestly almost any republican could have beat Clinton. 110 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 08/01/2026A charismatic leader CAN be replaced by well organized, decentralized grass roots populist politics! But the Dems can’t seem to do that, and they have no one respected leader to stand up and say “we believe in x, and we will do y with power”. It’s something they’ve never really figured out. 100 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 08/01/2026I think it makes it hard to get a message across if you’re not clear on your ideology in the first place, which the modern dems certainly aren’t. They have no figure head, but they also have no People’s Voice. They have no populist message. You need at least one. 100 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 08/01/2026In the American system a failed presidential candidate is just nobody. They can’t continue the fight until the next election cycle. Sure there’s party leadership, but Hakeem Jeffries doesn’t become president if the Dems win next election so the average person rightly views the party as headless. 110 0
Goblim Node @isometricman.bsky.social · 08/01/2026One thing the American political system really suffers from is a lack of opposition leadership. In other systems like the Canadian parliamentary system the parties have leaders, and if the party wins an election that leader becomes the prime minister. But the parties who loose still have a leader! 100 0
