Cases like these are becoming the new norm in AB, but nobody finds out about them if they don't make it into the press. The Premier and Ministers should be very aware of them, and should be FULLY INFORMED by our Alberta Health Leads. What's the plan to mitigate this??? 2/2

From an e-mail: hsaa.ca/speakup-bill55 #Alberta #abpoli
Hi! I would like to be anonymous due to job repercussions I am a public health inspector with AHS. We need help getting the population to sign this letter of awareness to the government. We are being told that we must accept a “take it or leave eit agreement” which includes a 15% wage cut, benefit cut, pension cut to serve albertans. If we do not accept the deal we will be replaced by uncertified, unqualified inspectors. The health of albertans are at risk.

From Chantel McBride on Facebook with 1.7K shares:
“I have served the public as a Public Health Inspector for over 9 years. Together, we have made it through numerous staff turnovers, wildfires, emergency evacuations, boil water orders, housing crises, infestations, and outbreaks.

It has been an absolute privilege to keep not just Albertans safe, but you—my neighbors and friends. It is your fundamental right to enjoy an outing at a restaurant, go for a swim, or drink a glass of tap water without the worry of getting sick or poisoned.
But this is all about to change.

In just six days, on June 17, 2026, the Government of Alberta is ending its negotiations and dissolving Public Health Inspectors and implementing mass layoffs across the province. We are being forced to choose between signing a severance agreement that bans us from working within the province, or accepting a Government of Alberta position with severe cuts to benefits, pay, seniority, and positions.

Legislation was silently passed to violate our contracts and force us into roles that will no longer effectively serve our communities. While a transition was expected, Public Health Inspectors are uniquely the only professional body targeted in this manner by the government.

This incredibly short notice was entirely by design to prevent public pushback.

Our Province's health is at stake. Please, stand with us and write or call your MLA immediately to demand they advocate for a fair and amicable transition that protects public health and the inspector…

There’s no “functioning” ED that has to make pts with chest pain wait 13hrs to be seen. When will the govt act? Only when someone dies? (and only when that makes the news?) Do you think govt or the AHS CEO is even aware? Sadly our Premier is uninterested in what’s happening in our EDs
