Dr. Mahmoud Abu Nujaila, wrote these words on October 20, 2023, in Gaza. He was a 38-year-old physician and father of three who had been working around the clock caring for injured patients, including many children orphaned by Israel. He was killed by a strike on his hospital a month later.

Mary worked at a shelter run by the Sisters of Mercy, caring for children in Gaza who are born with severe congenital disabilities. Mary spent her life in a place devoted to holding on to life, protecting it and caring for those most vulnerable. Israel killed her and her mother last night.
