Dorothea "Dot" McCoy, a healer character for a pirate D&D game I briefly got to play a few years back! (Yes, her name is a nod to Bones from Star Trek because I'm a nerd 🌟) #art #illustration #dnd #dungeonsanddragons

Illustrated portrait of a freckled ginger girl with curly hair. She has a blue dotted bandana, a small studded earring, thick eyebrows and is sporting a knowing smirk.

sketching away, back to fleshing out oc designs

Concept sketches mostly of Asha, Fynn and Sam wearing battle gear with neutral expressions. Fynn wears two daggers on their back, Asha wields a long sword and a dagger and Sam has a quiver on her back with arrows in it.

It's the first time I try making them, so I'm not entirely sure yet. I've seen them made by another artist just once before. So I haven't really seen it much. I'm trying it out. Also, I'm a small artist and my adopts often don't really sell, I might not be the best example of this discipline. Thx!

Practicing barn owls because the protagonist of a story I'm working on has one as her familiar, and I wanted to explore how to stylize it. :D Not all drawings are the best, but that's kinda the point of a sketchbook. #RoughSketch #SmallArtist #BarnOwl #TraditionalArt #Sketchbook

A sketchbook spread consisiting of two pages of drawings of Barn Owls. The page in the left has more realistic depictions, while the barn owls in the right page are more stylized and cartoony.

I made an icon animation for a stranger and they loved it very much. I've just finished animation uni, so it was really cool to get to animate without so much pressure. It made animation fun again I guess. :D

My last drawing for ArtFight! I did four this year, which is the most I've made any year. I'm really proud of it, considering I only really had two weeks. Character is Irya, a dnd Barbarian from my friend @tobiikki on insta :D #ArtFight2025 #ArtFight #DungeonsAndDragons #Tiefling #SmallArtist

Now that two days went back and I touched grass, I will say that I love Artfight and am excited to make more art for it (it's the year that I've done the most for AF so far :D). I won't be making animations, simply because strategy wise, other forms are better. I disliked the negativity in that post

I'm going to add the animation here because I just realized this is a still for some reason

Iris Draws🌻[COMMISSIONS OPEN] @iris-draws.bsky.social · 13/07/2025

Either I marked something real wrong, or animating for ArtFight is not really worth it, because that animated icon I just uploaded was 66 points. Bro It took me like 10 - 12 hours to make wdym 66 points? I earned more with the halfbody and that one took me two hours. Anyways, I'll do more tomorrow

btw if you're so petrified of doing a bad job that you can't even start, then what you need isn't advice on how to make comics. you need to learn to embrace being messy and bad at things and being okay with that because it's necessary, and actually it's GOOD. being messy is WONDERFUL

Tbh, I think a lot of artists are afraid of failure and to that I say Why?? Why are you afraid of making a drawing that sucks?? Like what's gonna happen? Ppl are gonna say it sucks?? Okay? Then?? Then you'll pick up your pen and draw again And again And again And you'll get better

I would like to add since I'm at it, that none of these designs are final. I'm in the process of designing all characters still! I'm so rusty with character design and I'm in finals season at uni so it's probably gonna take a while. But I'm on it!

Heya! I am back with some really quick concept art doodle from a story I'm writing and that will hopefully become a webcomic! I made this in #Procreate as well (only one layer lmao). What would it take for you to take the deal? #MySister'sKeeper #DigitalArt #SmallArtist #ConceptArt #Art

A young girl in a medieval dress, her back turned to the camera, she is looking at some sort of really creepy super natural being, consisting on some sort of black mass with an animal skull for a head.

Hiii I drew a tiny fawn in Procreate :DD I like how the colours and lighting turned out, I'm slowly growing more comfortable in Procreate #irisDrawsArt #AnimalArt #SmallArtist #Digitalartist #Procreate #DeerArt #Illustration #CuteArt

Illustration of a small fawn curled up in a ball sleeping on the grass. It is a soft brownish colour and it is hit with golden dappled sunlight difused trough the tree leaves.

A reminder that every small bit of good you do - whether it be putting art into the world, helping a friend or stranger, donating to a good cause, or just listening to someone who needs to vent - offsets all the evil in the world just a little bit. And sometimes that's just what the world needs.
