I am in Cap Haitien interviewing people deported from the United States. I have been doing this kind of work for almost a decade and it literally does not get more dire than this. People have lost everything they built in the U.S. and are terrified and have no place to go or way to live.

Yes-I find in the battles of zoning here in Oak Park- the NIMBY crew will look at me as if I'm some sort of naif who doesn't get what these "developers" are after. Like because I still have young children I haven't wised up to the duties of an elder home owner. It's the presumed position of "wisdom"

As a bike commuter (live in OP and commute to Austin) it has been great. Love seeing so many more bikers join me along Madison Still have to fight the online battle- my only reason for being on Facebook is to argue with all the "I hate that they painted a picture of bike on my street" folk

The worst part is the first line "My wife: can you read our baby a book" This is not a normal thing a spouse would ask a partner. If you're with your kid you do things with your kid and one of the many things you do with your kid is read. A world where this has to be asked is already pretty grim

John didn't used to! If anything the Ravens may have gone for it a little too much. Google "Harbaugh asks Lamar if he wants to go for it" there are like five videos of Harbaugh asking Lamar. Just off top of my head- Seahawks game, a Chiefs games, and a Bills game

Always thought of John Harbaugh as an Obama-Trump voter. I legit think he loved Obama and loves Trump (the man likes power and aura) Funny that his 4th down strat. might mirror that- getting more conservative on 4th as he grew Trumpy- he was famously one of the more aggressive coaches for a while

Honestly I think it has to do with facing so many tier 1 WRs weeks after week in the AFC north. Fans are like “why cant we have a guy like that“ when we see Higgins, chase, Pickens, cooper. Just a high profile spot where we feel weak year after year (until this year….)

But they exist lots of them! Sure not cheap but worth it. It always breaks my heart when I hear how infrequently couples use a babysitter A theory: that parenting is too micro generational now. So folk with prek aged kids don’t know high schoolers. It does require some effort to find them

People you gotta use babysitters! Save your local theaters, local music scene, romance- use babysitters! They are very much out here- high schoolers can be tricky because they have busy schedules, but your daycare workers want to babysit, we‘ve had a steady stream of Rush med school students.

I was ready to get annoyed (or mildly disappointed) about it and then got to section where he describes the guy (and team) who developed ground breaking methods to excavate/study sunken ships and was blown away. 1000s+ of carefully orchestrated dangerous dives over the course of 20 years! Wowzers!

I strongly disagree with this! I've become a big advocate for "there are many popular things that are popular for good reasons" I think think this gets lost in the age of "viral" but viral is not popular. Genuinely popular things are often quite good!

We drive from Chicago (where I live) to Baltimore (where I grew) every year and the thing I HATE MOST about the drive is how the signs in PA (same as logo in post) say "PENNA Turnpike" It's maddening! It's the the Penn Turnpike- WHY ADD THE A?!?!? My anger at that fuels the last leg of the drive
